Call from Bank Regarding Westurn Union?

So my bank called me to get more details from a western union I did with them 1.5 years ago.

Anyone have this happen to them before? What would they be checking? That was the last time I used my name/bank for WU.

My bank has Western Union as a service. So used them since I was there.

Definitely thought it was odd from 1.5 years ago.

ive gotten a call from moneygram and that was almost 4 years later so moneygram isn't perfect either. Tho wu is the worst by far. MG called me twice left messages asking for me to call them regarding a transfer and I never called them back and they just stopped calling.

I am banned from both WU and mg. Used them way too much and brought suspicion upon myself I guess. Now I do bizz the old fashion way. There are better safer ways of going about things. Good luck pal.

WU MG questions

Apparently so I have been told by both MG and Wu there is a big increase in "fraudulent" activities in regards to sending money. I believe its costing banks and MG WU big bucks to refund and recoup money. My guess its from drug dealers and money laundering and the such.

I've gotten a request to call mg before a few years back regarding money sent. The recipient couldn't pick up till I called them due to security reasons. They just wanted to hear from me that I knew the person I was sending the money to. It was odd to me and had me shook but it turned out to be no big deal.

That is a common thing. Usually they have alot of people with similar names n sometimes if a flagged name comes up they just call n see if it is really that person or some other dude. But if they call you after a year or two that means something had gone through or still going on. Could be a general query, as someone said above just Deny but do talk to em n see what's going on. My 0.2 cents
