Do they test for steroids when you are a corrections officer?
dont even worry about it, i have been working for the Feds for 4 1/2 years already. all they screen u for is the common drugs. the only way they will check u for roids is if someone imforms the warrant. so becareful who u talk to

Apply at the women's correctional facilities. Its a eaiser job.
Looking over the application for corrections officer, I noticed that they asked if you use or have used steroids. It also mentions that all the questions in the application will be given via polygraph. Not sure if every corrections system uses this same method, but that's what I have seen.

What do they ask in the polygraph? If you answer honestly that you have used in the past is it used against you.
....The bottom line is if you are going to do something illegal, seek another profession then Law Enforcement.
Around here the cops are the best sources.
My wife was a Lieutnet, and worked corrections for 11 years. To answer your question, in the past they didn't give polygraph test or test for steriods. Steriods is on the controlled substance list, they now give polygraph tests for new recruits, if you do something illegal, they will not hire you. They will ask you if you take any illegal drugs on the polygraph, I know a young guy they threw out of the academy, for admitting steriod use. The bottom line is if you are going to do something illegal, seek another profession then Law Enforcement.
