The way ive structured things is that every 4 wks is block that has an emphasis on a certain area (i.e chest and tris) in terms of volume and intensity. So I ramp up for 4 wks then switch to another area (i.e. chest bis) where the intensity increases over 4wks, the volume is high throughout, but the chest/tri volume gets cut back by 2/3 to recover.
After 2 blocks, I NEED about 2 wks to deload and go on a diet break so I do full body workouts with decent intensity, and low volume.
