DENNIS JOHNSON R.I.P.

Ya they used to call him DJ. Point guard that played on those 80's teams with Bird, shame. How'd he die?

Larry Bird, who was not known for lightly tossing around compliments, called Johnson "the best I've ever played with." R.I.P. He played here in Seattle, led them to a championship. Great player, great guy!!

That's a sad day for sport. DJ was one of the greats. R.I.P. !!

Damn! He was the best at the position in his day.

Aww hell, he was one of my favorite Celts. I remember the playoff game where he stole the inbound pass and layed it in to win the game, against the Lakers I think. He played during Boston's haydays.

Yeah he was one of my favorite players back in the 80's... I was a huge Celtics fan!! When Len Bias died it all went downhill!! DJ was the only man who could contain Magic Johnson... And that is saying something!! A great player and a good person! I am sad to hear of his passing!:( RIP

very sad news...

he was only 52.

Like AINGE stated, one of the most under rated players to ever play the game

I agree...what a great underated player. Mostly known for his shutdown defense. Sad day for sure. Moral of the story....tomorrow is promised to no one so we all have to be prepared to meet the LORD.

He was in his prime with the Sonics and Suns. Best defensive guard in the late 70's, early 80's in the NBA.

gone at only 52. RIP

you would think this man playing basketball all his life would be in awesome cardiovascular condition, yet it looks like he may have died of a heart attack. then you have the little old lady that is 103 and smokes a pack a day since she was 12 and is still kickin. go figure. genetics suck
