I'm not sure if it's possible for someone whose eaten whatever he wanted for 47 years to now follow a structured meal plan.

I tried hard and was perfect for three weeks. Grocery shopping, cooking chicken and brown rice, packing lunch for work and I was getting comments from people who said I looked like I lost weight which I did not like to hear at first cause I'm not trying to lose weight just my bodyfat. But my trainer said they were referring to my waist line.

Then this weekend it all fell apart. It was the Taste of Melrose Park which is the second biggest taste in the Chicago area, the biggest being Taste of Chicago. I said I would eat healthy which would mean steak teriyaki sticks which are loaded with sodium. I had about 3 of those and then gnocchi, chicken parmesan sandwich, beef sandwich, meatball sandwich, bruschetta which is sort of healthy, taco, quesadilla, cannoli. I did manage to stay away from the panzerroti, cheese fries, and fried bread dough. It sounds like a lot but everything is a smaller portion for its all $2 bucks each. Also two beers, one diet, a water, and iced cappuchino.

Now I feel like a sodium loaded fat failure. I want to confess to my trainer tomorrow but I can't cause I know he'll be disappointed cause I swore I would stick with it this time. Is this normal to fall off the wagon? Training is so easy but dieting sucks. My trainer and his girlfriend eat perfectly every single day. I wish I could live with them.

I did cook today and have my meal for tomorrow ready so I will give it another try. Is this normal, my trainer said its gets easy over time so what happpened.

Vito, I don't know to many that don't cheat on their diets once in a while. Hell, It probally tasted good! Just get back on your saddle and get back to your diet. Everything is about consistancy and it takes time. Don't try to conquer everything at once.

one day like that isnt going to kill you. atleast you realized that it isnt the best thing for you, now remember how bad you feel about it and use that as motivation to not do it again. get right back on to your diet and stay on track, and eventually the temptations for that kind of stuff start to diminish.

I know that when I eat really crappy I feel physically ill for a bit too. Thats good motivation for me to lay off of that. A few meals or even a few days lapse isnt going to hurt much at all. Its not like you are dieting for a contest and have to be ready in 9 weeks. You have the rest of your life, and should take time to enjoy it.

Sometimes falling off the wagon can be the best thing for you. You realize you failed to stick to your program and you let yourself down. Then you realize how bad that feels and you become a machine and it never happens again. Just get back on the diet and dont forget how bad it feels to let yourself down.

Shit man. I jump off the wagon every few weeks just for the hell of it.

Your body gets used to eating so healthy...gotta have a cheat day to keep your body in check and your mind sane.

Dont worry bout it bro. Just hop bayack on and keep at it!

I feel your pain tho..
sometimes I go crazy and then im like ahhhhhhhhh why did I do that..

someone put it this way..when you are about to eat whatever it is you might feel guilty about ask yourself

"what effect will eating this food have on my overall goal?"

respect

Bro one day of cheating isn't necessarily "falling off the wagon" and in fact as others have stated can be good for you both mentally and physically. Once you lose the water weight you'll feel fine again. Not to mention you'll probably be strong as hell in the gym tomorrow.

Biggest thing is to not turn one bad day into two, into three, oo .

That is the biggest thing I have done getting back on track after a long time off, if I faulter at all, I come back better the rest of the week. Been going on 5 months now of living this. I am feeling like I did 10 years ago now.

Just remember how you feel now, and remember that next time you want to go off. I think it's good to have one cheat meal a week though if you're dieting to lose fat. It makes you more mentally stable, at least for me. I was a fat kid my whole life until about a year ago. Dieting is bad for me, I am hungry all day long, I could seriously eat all day long (I use to) and just remember what I used to look like really pushes me to keep doing what I do.

Brother,

Don't be so hard on yourself.
Like others have said. Try to keep yourself positive and don't let 1 day become multiple days. Also try to establish a mind body connection and remember just how horrified you feel. When I struggle and find myself lingering around the take away shops. I just watch and see the different body types people have and the foods they're eating. Its good reinforcement.

You did 21 days I'm sure you can man up to beating that.
