use clonidine for sleep, I see that people here have used it to help with GH bloat but how about for sleep?

I dont understand how clonidine is used for sleep OR Gh bloat. Clonidine is used for acute hypertension to quickly reduce blood pressure, its not a diuretic so would help with bloat and I dont know how it would be useful as a sleep aid.

i dont use GH so i did not read the threads, but when i searched the board for "clonodine" lots of GH threads showed up...as far as clonodine for sleep this is what my doc has prescribed me after trazodone did not work and i did not like the way ambien made me feel

IIRC Clonidine lowers ADH levels which go up on GH.

I have also been injecting HGH (IV instead of subq for increase bioavaila- bility) for the past 12 months. I would like to warn people with coronary problems about the one potentially serious side effect of HGH use. The water retension from HGH is due to increased secretion of ADH (anti- diuretic hormone) from the posterior pituitary. This hormonal relationship is not in any medical literature. However, it must be true, because the water retension and hypertension are easily controlled by .2mg of clonidine q 12 hours (personal experience). Clonidine's primary action is retarding ADH secretion. ACE inhibitors have no effect, which means that angiotensin and sodium retention are not part of the problem.

Oops, messed up my first thoughts....
Clonidine is an ACE inhibitor.....a side effect I get from this particular compound like a few others is nocturia (urination at night), but that's probably because I use it at night to help me sleep sometimes. This drug can severely lower bp, so it would be wise to think about this before you try it. I personally genetically have high blood pressure and am very able to monitor myself on using this due to my background...however, it is hard (yeah, hard, how about impossible) to monitor your blood pressure when you're asleep..... I do not use quite as high of a dose as I've seen on the internet for sleeping purposes and/or GH releasing purposes.
