Coming to America
I had an earlier thread on my trials and tribulations of EWT while vacationing with my girlfriend in Italy and eating a lot of meals at her relatives houses.
I have dropped about 20lbs to date. I have put on three since Saturday when her Mother and Brother arrived in the States. Her brother, a terrific amatuer chef, is staying a month, and the Mother, two months. They smuggled in a ton of good food and ingredients and then we emptied Costco and Whole Foods. My refrigerator could feed Bangladesh for a month.
Luckily we bought tons of seafood. Her mothers take on Phils' EWH is basically "Eat when I see you". Even my chihuahuas have put on noticeable weight. We are going to have to eat out just so I can eat healthy without offending her. She speaks no english so she communicates to me through food. Even though it has been explained to her about my eating preferences, the food=love connection is so ingrained that rational thought does not stick.
In a world of trouble, what a terrific problem to have.
