Favorite Post Workout Carb?

6 oz of Sweet potatos.

I drink my carb/protein shake for slin during workout eat a good meal after , shake is 70gr dextrose , 70gr protein
 
3/4c - 1c of oats depending on the day.
 
I dont do a pwo meal, per say. But bananas are my favorite carbs.

Hydrolyzed whey protein with maltodextrin and arginine.
 
bananas, greek yogurts, sometimes even cheerios oat clusters or other cereals that its a mix of whole grains with some simple sugars
 
hmm I have read that fructose (fruit sugar) is not effective post work out because supposedly it doesn't spike insulin enough. I really would rather eat a food source than some maltodextrin or dextrose powder....I might look into those cereals haha, good call snuka!
 
Honey, sometimes. Usually nothing. I am more of a complex carb guy. I think if you can keep your blood sugar stable by eating complex carbs all day long then you dont need to load on sugar. I see better results and less fat that way. But I also dont use slin, so who knows what I will eat pwo when I start that.

ooo honey is a good idea as well, I guess if I don't feel an insulin surge or if i don't see any noticeable differences in muscle mass Ill probly just stick to complex carbs.

At the moment..waxy maize starch, whey isolate, LBA's, BCAA's, Glutamine, Leucine, and a small handfull of raisins or sultana's.....I then add just enough water to make it a big thick goo and then spoon it out my shaker to eat it....one of my favourite meals...

I then drink my water once ive finished eating it as i find if i mix it all with water as a drink i feel very very bloated. Thtas the same if it was just the whey isolate to. This way avoids my bloating and i also seem to get hungrier quicker to..:p
 
As soon as our new Size On comes out with the carbs and insulin mimetic, I will use one scoop with one scoop of Karbolyn...so 90 carbs, 12 grams Whey hydrolysate, 5 g leucine, creatine, etc.....

As a stand alone carb, karbolyn is my fav....waxy is great for adding to protein shakes during day as it has been shown to be a complex carb, not so great for post workout as once was thought....waxy does not equal vitargo, just like 2% milk does not equal micellar casein
