I plan on carbing up the day before the show and during the morning of the day of the show, what types of carbs should i eat?

What have you used before that gave best results?

Use whatever carbs you have been dieting with or whatever works best with your body.

Think back to your offseason and what carbs sat best with your stomach and what not.

during your dieting have been doing re-feeds??
If so that is when I would have been experimenting ...

but yes..pop tarts ..fat free ice cream ...sugar frosted flakes ( though check into the slat levels of those ) ..
 
If I need to fill out over night sushi works the best for me. Or burgers and fries
 
Day before, red potatos... the night before and morning of, Aunt Jemima's frozen pancakes...
 
Whatever carb source u have been eating throughout the diet. Do not change it up the last week!

99% of people I have seen compete..miss the carb load by 1-2 days ...they are afraid to eat ...so after the contest ...they "cheat" ..and look amazing sunday or monday ....
 
Really depends on what you look like...you may not need to carb load.
 
for me it was 40-50 carbs worth of sweet potatoes and a tbs of almond butter every hour on the hour from when i woke up till i went to bed friday. saturday morning 125 grams worth pancakes and 3 tbs almond butter repeat that meal 2 hours later. then rice cakes leading up to the show with peanut butter. couple small candy bars while pumping up
 
Forgot to mention the sweet potatos where plain, no salt etc. and no skin

Yeah fear of gaining a ton of bloat / water before a comp can play mind games. Out of curiosity how long do you guys wait after a long dieting phase / competition to go back to maintenance.

Basically you don't want to do any major changes the last week if you are in condition for the show then this is just as simple as lowering your water intake don't go stupid high on carbs really no need to water load sodium load or sodium deplete. I always heard stay away from gluten when carbing up sweet potatoes are good dried fruit is good dry oats are hard to get down without the water but they help dry your ass out some people use rice it all depends on what your body processes the best. There is another good article about this in this months issue of flex magazine the one with kia green on the front.
