Glute cause of back pain?

When I stick my glutes, I swear the oil presses up against a nerve & causes varying levels of pain in my low back & going down my but into my legs. Any one else experience this? I have a TON of scar tissue in my glutes; when was younger(22 in '98) I used the same 18g needle; once a week for months. I did the same with a smaller needle 3x's a week a year later.

The SAME 18g needle? You're still using 18g? A 23 or 25 g at 1 inch (not 1.5" like most people say) should be fine. Heat your oil up by running hot water over filled pin before you stick it. There's no way I'd ever use an 18, 20 or even 22 g.

The sciatic nerve (also known as the ischiatic nerve) is a large nerve that begins in the lower back and runs through the buttock and down the lower limb. It is the longest and widest single nerve in the body.

I have sciatica in my right leg and sometimes my ass is numb/needles from my back surgery. Opposite of you but more than likely it could be causing it.

The dorsogluteal site (where you have been injecting) is a place that increases your chance of nerve damage if you inject in that area. Almost all hospitals are recommending not to give im injections in that area now...

i almost never use glutes anymore, it just hurts too bad for me

although, i dont agree with 1in. glute shots, as your glute is prolly 5in. deep

Just out of curiousity, why are you still pinning in your glutes then?

I use 25g now, I only used that 18g back in the early days before i was on the internet or had any knowledge or access to anything other than the guy who sold it to me. I try to avoid injecting my glutes, but I'm inj. synthealene(sp?) and synthatine daily now so it's hard to find enough spots.
