I typically don't care for glute kickback machines because at my size I can do the full stack plus 100lbs. with a GymPin and still knock out 15-20 reps. I do like glute bridges but I'm always trying to minimize spinal loading so it's not always in rotation.
Thursday was my birthday and I decided to hit Absolute Recomp for glutes & hamstrings because I knew it wouldn't be too crowded in the afternoon and they have tons of great leg equipment, most of it Panatta and some Arsenel - probably 10 leg presses, 10 different squat machines, standing (not kneeling) leg curls, etc.
This machine is called the Power Runner and I'm guessing it's for runners to train their legs for explosiveness. Panatta claims it's the first and only machine like it on the market. But if you do it unilaterally it really hits the glutes hard. As strong as I am with kickbacks I only went up to about 3 plates from the max for 10 reps. This was the first time I'd seen one and If you find one I highly recommend trying it. It even has separate weight stacks for each leg so if you have an injury or an imbalance you want to correct you can work around it.
