Gym opening update?

So what's the deal. A few guys have mentioned their gym is going to be open soon. Whats the update? What's the word on this. Guessing if some open we will have to wear a mask.

Your governor determines. If he says it can open, and they don't, id imagine you can cancel and join one that is (or they may have a lawsuit).

Same. I’m thinking August at this point. Just nothing encouraging to make me think it will be any sooner.

Was supposed to be the 7th here in Tokyo, but the state of emergency order has been extended until end of May now

Supposedly a 3 phase opening. Gyms in my state are 3rd phase which starts Jun 15th. But then again they keep extending the stay home orders. So they could keep pushing it back who knows

I’m here outside of Atlanta and gym is still closed. I’m over it. I know they want the best for everyone but cmon guys. It’s so frustrating. I’ve been using these bands, but I don’t get even remotely the workout with these things.

Businesses must be afraid of lawsuit. I wonder why, despite getting the greenlight from the governor they choose to remain close.

The Forum Athletic Club emailed me saying they are opening. They have couple locations in the city.

My local gym is posting up new ways they are sanitizing and new machines they are getting in, which is great. But I don't think they realize how long this is going to be. I'm even wondering if they are going to be able to open back up again this year. Here in NY, Cuomo seems like he's just going to let this lock down last as long as he can. I just hope my gym can survive.

Why can't gyms just have people sign a waiver?

I am assuming a lawyer can find a loop hole. IF there was an "outbreak" at the LA fitness in Atlanta, GA and other people get sick in the community, the waiver was signed by Person A that went to the gym, but not by Person B that was indirectly infected.

unless there was an iron clad immunity from law suits. I understand their fear.

There isn't anyone getting into a gym anytime soon. You'd be lucky to be back in a gym by August/September.. Im all for the time off right now, I had some nagging injuries and this is a good excuse to get healed up and get some much needed rest.
