Man, it's amazing how change scares people. Since the final O last night, people make these great assumptions as to where this field is heading. I dont understand where the mentality comes from. This is body building. Let's not forget what it was founded upon; the greatest physiques in the world, period. It was not based upon the biggest and most mass, it was built upon who has a great build that holds an extraordinary amount of mass on top of it. Note, what comes first; "GREAT BUILD". We were there years ago and Jay is the next step back towards that look. I don't think that freaks should be looked at in awe, I think they should be in a circus. Great trimmed, well formed, and consistent physiques should be in the limelight as they are the hardest to achieve. I look at it this way: Would a woman be more attracted to Dex or to RC? My guess is Dex. This is the true question in my book, as women mean the most to me and are an outsider as far as judging the way a male should present himself. The BBing world needs to get back to that perspective.

Ya know, it's funny, Troy's body is great, but his head looks like it's been snipped from some geeky looking guy at 150lbs. A long time ago, when I first started training, I would ask the big fellas what it was that made a trademark. They said EVERYTHING. Hair, (even though I have none), waist, legs, face, everything. Now it's basically steered toward who is most unhealthy and the largest. (Not saying that Troy looks unhealthy) This would probably be the beginning of a medium distant road to extinction businesswise for IFBB which is probably why they are turning it around into what it was originally founded for.

You know I'll never argue with ya man. It's just my opinion. Not saying Jay isn't any more of a freak than RC, it's just RC has so much muscle at his age it is starting to show a droop. To me his muscle is to heavy for it's own existence. Consider it a non implant 36DD on a 28 year old as apposed to 36DD on a 50 year old. Either way, you are my brutha and I would never argue with ya. Good opinion though.

kaiser. i agree with you TOTALLY... mass gets out of porportion.. no matter how hard these guys try to stay in porportion, it doesnt happen...
it should be about a TOTAL image.. when arnold competed, thats what it was about.. total looks, total porportion, total additude, and also INTELLEGENCE. they would recieve questions to be asked, and were judged as to how they responded.. now im not saying they need to be INTERVIEWED, but we need to get it into check. Jay looks great. NO DOUBT.. but melvin anthony to me has the better physique.. not as much bulk.. more asthetic. i may get flamed for this ,but oh well. tight waists, and HUGE shoulders, and that "X" frame shape.. thats what i am after...

AND THE ABS.. you are SOOOO RIGHT THERE BRO.. women want abs, and they want ABERCROMBIE & FITCH biatches..

Question.... did you bros really think Jay's waistline all that more narrow than RC's? Are you saying that Jay embodies the V-taper more than RC?

I'm not a BBer but in many of those shots, Jay's waist just looks huge. But I don't think RC has a pleasing physique. He has muscle on muscle and it just hangs off the guy. How big can your lats get before they start to hang? Lots of guys pecs hang a bit when relaxed. Even Arnold in some shots, when relaxed, seriously looked like he had boobs.

One last thing... Lou F. aged well and I haven't seen a very recent pic but the last pic I saw, he just looked massive still.

I know you guys are saying 'It's all in what you like' but seriously, both those guys are the same in that they are FREAKISH. I don't want to call them freaks but I don't mind saying that their size is freakish.

Thy're both probably pretty nice guys...

I think the sport as a whole is sending a clear message: the biggest is not the best. If you dont have the whole package then you lose. Ive known Jay thru friends of a friend kind of thing since well before he became pro. The kid would not go out with his friends when they where chasing pussy. He turned down almost all a normal young mans idea of a social life because he wouldn't miss a workout.
He never slacked off, he never gave in. and it has payed off. Trust me Jay will never risk losing this Title or take it for granted that he is Mr Olympia.
I'm still in Awe of Coleman. The man is UNBELIEVABLE. But all things come to an end.

OTH, my eye on the subject is that Jay comes in wider than RC, but the overall circumference on RC is alot larger than Jay. If you notice, either Jay is REALL,REALL good at holding his breath when pics and vid are taken or he is naturally smaller in the waist than RC. As I said, RC looks like his muscle is hanging off of muscle which is showing of his age and abuse to his body. He is no longer tight. People seem to think Jay holds more water than RC. I do believe VM ran better than both, but that will not happen out of the blue in business. Am I right in the theory that black people do not possess the extra added layer of water that white people do, and that this is the reason why black people have darker skin to shield from the effects of the light and sun? Maybe I am wrong here but I am just speaking what I have heard and what I have been taught. Is there really a justification here?

Hehe, yeah I agree, but I wasn't adding him into the equation. I was just point out that muscle upon muscle in an informal way doesn't necessarily mean a great physique. Muscle in places that needs muscle does, along with NO muscle or mass in places that do not. But yeah man, Brad Pitt is Simone's favorite.
