Honestly , the best thing the league could ever do for itself is to turn it's back on T.O. . He is an amazing talent [ probally best all around since BO Jackson and Hershall Walker in my eyes ] , but he is everything wrong with sports today .If he was shunned for life it would wake some of these guys up for sure . They need to step up and make an example of him .


When I played , I hated football players [ but I was always there for them on and off the field ] . I hated that they seemed to think that because thier genetics allowed them to be able to play a game that they were better than other people . They bullied people , talked down to , and expected special treatment . [ even at jr high level .......pathectic] Most of the guys I played with or encountered during my years in the game were nothing more than spoiled babies .......

Just last night ,I almost beat up one the New York Knicks [ they are in town to play the Kings tonight ]. The guy wanted special treatment and actually had a guy that I know that used to play for the Raiders drive him up to the club just to get him free . [ just for statius I am guessing , because admit is only 20 dollars ......the guy I knew didnt even come in and doesnt live close .] When the Knick came in , he was acting like some of the punkass bigtime rappers that come in from time to time .[ like he was about something and we were lucky to be in his presence ] He imediately gets on his cell phone trying get attention drawn to himself ......I politely ask him to please use his phone outside only [ because we dont allow thier use inside our club ] He ingores me ......so I repeat myself , with a loader more agressive tone . He looks me with utter disdain and sayes ," Do you know who I am ?.......I am VIP .... so dont worry about it ....you are lucky that I came to your stupid club " . It took everything that I had not to choke the life out him right then and there I thought for a minute ....then suddanly snatched his cell phone right out of his hand and rushed to the front door . Then I threw it out the front out the front door breaking into several peices ......He follows me out ,but didnt see what I did with his phone . He sayes , " I want my phone ." "what the fuck did you do with it ?" . I said , " it is outside, so go get it and dont come back in " [ he doesnt realize I tossed his phone on the ground yet, breaking it ] As he walks by, he sayes to me , " your club sucks and you will regret doing this to me " . When he gets outside he sees his phone ,all my guys [ and some customers ] start laughing thier asses off when he sees his phone broken on the ground .........He starts getting ghetto and making threats and such .....so i come outside to see what was going on . He calls me everyname in the book and makes some threats to me ........" So I ask him this , " just because you are young ,6 '10 , black , and rich does that make you a tough guy ? " " Because seriously , you are fucking with the wrong guy tonight, and if you keep up this bullshit, I am going to break your motherfucking back ." I said , " Continue with this ghetto act and I can guarantee that tomorrows headlines are going to read Knicks player missing in Sac area . " I yelled , "look at me before you open you mouth again .. Am I playing ?" He turned , shut his mouth ,and walked away like a giant baby that was just repremanded by his parents .......As he drove away he yelled some threat out the window .[ what a fucking pussy ]

The above ,is just an exaple of how a great deal of professional athletes act when they think they can get away with it ....they have been treated different since they were 12 or 13 and honestly think they are special . The reality is that they are just genetic freaks and got lucky in the big skeem of things . Not all are like this , but you would be surprized of just how many are unless it jeprodizes thier money .......If the league turned it's back on T.O. forever, it would definately wake some of these ungrafefuls pricks up quite abit .......The bottom line ,is money and attention are all these jokers care about ......threaten that ,with banning a stud like T.O and it would send a strong message to all athletes period ....

alot of eagles are actually boys with T.O. a week before this suspension, him and a bunch of players were over jevon kearses house on halloween watching monday night football. he was suspended later that week. so i believe something happened that we dont know about. besides fist fighting hugh douglas in the locker room. they all think there "hollywood", not just T.O. it goes all the way back to joe namath.

Well I agree with IAB about alot of guys being like that. However I don't think T.O.'s like that. I think he thinks that he deserves more money, as he probably should, in comparison to what others get paid at his position and at the icon level.
They did a good piece on him today in the pregame. We'll see if he changes, I think his agent maybe abit of the problem. I would give him a chance and I'd play with him. I'm sure there's alot more to this than we've all heard, both in his favor and against him. I bet if someone took more of an aggressive approach to talk to him in a one on one situation it might have turned out better.
But there's more problems around the Eagles than T.O. and it's always easy to point the blame when things aren't going well for a team.
The man does have a gripe about how he's been treated. Tell me one other man in the league that wasn't recognized after he went over 100 TD's. Everyone, they generally stop the game and do a few other things and I don't recall hearing much about any of it.

WEll in the club i use to run in a small college town I have had a few athletes(now are nothing), come through that way...one time a famous decathlete that muffed his olympic trials came through the club...now I have heard he is a woman beater and an alcoholic...I have no respect for men that beat women...anways he came in depmanding 4 security guards on him at all times and free drinks for him and his friends...

It was great...my door man asked him for his ID....he was like do you know who the fuck I am??? My doorman said you look like every other drunk that comes through here now give me your ID...My guy looked at it and then dropped it on the floor...He then makes his way tothe cashier and I charge him 10.00 instead of 5.00 because he is being and asshole...he was like I am HIS NAME and I made this town...I said well now you are going to help make my paycheck bigger pay the fees and come on in. He was very upset but still came in and drank his ass off at FULL PRICE.


ANother time...a certain 2nd pick in the NFL draft(QB), came into the club...he had his O-LINEMAN with him and proceeded to walk right past the doorman an into the club...now the curretn doorman at the time had no balls...so I had to run this guy down...he was not even looking at me when I was talking to him...I asked him nicely to go back and show his ID and pay the cover...it seems like famous people seem to have this same line "do you know who the fuck I am?" I am like I know who you are that is why you can afford to pay for you and your friends...He made his way back to the door...we had about 1500 people in the club...it was black fraternity night and that usually packs the place. People could not believe that happened to this guy...everyone knows who he is and if they don't, he makes a note of tit to make sure you know who he is...NOW HE IS A RICH ASS LOSER that could not hold PAYTON's JOCK.


Oh yeah and they should make an example out of TO yes he is a damn good player, but he needs his ego brought down an notch...this is a team game...you are a stand out because your O-LINE blocks for the QB, so the QB can get you the ball...your running game allows for the play action to work to get the free safety to bite on the run to free your ass up...so please do not think you are about teh NFL.

This is why I loved wrestling so much in school cause I could look at people and tell them to fuck off and not worry about the team thing. It was me by myself out there doing what I did best win. My team didn't cover enough spots to be competitive as a full team and if we did we had pussy's.
This is why I like guys like T.O. I do think it does get carried away and I'm all about doing what I can do to make my team better, but that only goes so far. When it comes to the EAGLES you can't blame T.O. for there slide anways. You have to blame Andy Reid, he's lost the blueprints that got them to the NFC championship 3 yrs in a row. Don't run the ball you don't win.
We can talk about the strategy of the game but that's on a team basis. An O-line or a QB doesn't turn a 4 yard hitch into an 88 yard touchdown. They don't shed 2 tackles and out run 9 other players. When people game plan to stop an offense they don't say lets stop the Falcons rushing attack, they say lets stop DUNN and DUCKET and then there's VICK. It's team and individualism working synergistically that makes one successful. Remember the league is about what have you done for me lately, and what can I point you out for.

Was essentially what was said and I think it is soo true...Terrell Owens simply cannot handle himself in a social setting gracefully. Here is my take on the situation in Philly... To me it very much resembles what went on in LA with the Lakers. There are too many egos on one team. Sure they are very talented, but TO and McNabb are not buddies in the least. You can say what you want, McNabb cannot stand that TO gets all the attention. Hell he is a QB. He thinks it should be all about him. He wants to be treated like Mike Vick... The only reason the Lakers won championships is because Phil knew how to keep their egos in check long enough to get the job done. Andy Reed doesn't know how to handle these guys... They were a much better team when they were centered around McNabb... If these guys could work together they could certainly do damage in the NFC, but just can't keep it together... Also, TO has a moron for an agent, who has done everything in his power to screw his client in every way possible... Iabadman, write the book! I think it would be worth consideration on your part... I think alot of people would buy the book, if it was marketed right.... I have a friend who has written three books and working on a fourth... Hell, he gets paid to stay at home and write... Well I should probably stay out of this thread since I dont watch sports no more. How much is this guy getting paid that people feel he deserves more money than the contract said he signed. I think TO's approach to his contract was way off base, but I do agree with him on one thing. In the NFL the team can let you go at anytime, with little to no financial loss (depending on your signing bonus structure). So these players need to make as much money in a short time period. While TO signed a 7 year $49 million contract, he was not going to see anywhere near that $49mil. In reality it was more of a 3 year contract (now 2). So if the teams can let you go based on year to year performance, why can't the players be rewarded on a year to year basis? If you ask me all of the contracts should be 100% incentive based, with clauses for injuries (it's the NFL they happen and the players should be compensated). If the NFL keeps operating under these terms, situations like TO's will continue to happen all over the league. Brian Westbrook was going through a similar situation, and Jeremiah Trotter went through a bitter contract negotiation in his first stint with the Eagles. TO just went about it in a different manner.

Aside from the contract, I think TO is a cancer. As a WR you CANNOT call out your QB. He threw both Jeff Garcia and Donovan McNabb under the bus. He acts like a petulant child who will hold his breath until he gets his way. While someone finally let him suffocate, it will be interesting to see what happens from here. A quick sidenote, I find it very interesting no one has come to the defense of McNabb, he strikes me as being a tool as well.

I was fortunate enough to be around Walter Payton on a fairly consistent basis while I was playing football in high school. He was a class act, kind to everyone, and would take a moment to say hi to anyone. So not all superstars are this way.
