Arnold Resigns from Arnold Classic

As reported by the Associated Press: "Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has cut his business ties with the "Arnold Classic," the annual bodybuilding competition in Ohio that bears his name, his spokeswoman said Saturday. But money from nutritional supplement companies apparently continues to flow to the governor, although less directly. The move comes as the governor relinquishes his title as executive editor of Muscle & Fitness and Flex magazines, giving up at least $5 million in income to distance himself from nutritional supplement companies that advertise heavily in the periodicals."
More from the San Francisco Chronicle: "The governor decided last week to cut his financial ties with the Arnold Classic, a major sales forum for dietary supplement products, and its Ohio- based parent firm, Classic Productions, Schwarzenegger spokesman Rob Stutzman said Friday."

I think this goes a long way to proving that Gov Arnie has higher political aspirations. If he actually intended on only doing this one term, he would have told everyone to bite the baloney pony and kept doing what he is doing.

ARNOLD REALLY DID NOT DO MUCH OF THE ORGANIZING FOR THE CLASSIC.. jim l. his partner did all the leg work and used arnold and his name as a draw for the most part.. arnold has always been for arnold.. there is a reason he is not well liked from the competitors of his day.. and no it is not jealousy ect.. he would sell out bodybuilding in a heart beat if he could gain something for it.. he is the one that could get the truth out there about gear and nutritional supplments.. but, he is in it for arnold.. we, as bodybuilders, are getting our ass handed to us every day in the press and arnold goes into hiding instead of telling the truth and trying to get it across..he will distance himself from us from now on and do not be surprised if he starts denouncing us to save his own political skin..

i understand what he is doing, which is what he thinks is best for his polotical career. i guess i cant bash the dude, it does seem like everyone is on the bandwagon against steroids and enhancement in general. maybe its all the fuckin fat fucks who dont want people to enhance themselves because they already look so fuckin shitty they dont people looking even that much better..

anyways thats about it.. sorry for the small rant.. haha

BB is just a weird spectacle to the mainstream public - not viewed as sport by the average joe, kinda viewed as a faggy show of drugged up, oiled up, dudes (or women who look like dudes) in less-than-speedos, posing for other dudes. I think that is how most view it - at least from the discussions I've had with the average ding-dongs I know.

I don't blame Arnold at all, and to anybody who is surprised by his move, I've got some prime beach front property in Nevada that I'd like to sell ya.

Yea no shit , Arnold could have been a huge voice in protecting and deffending roids instead he decides to sell out and save his own ass when BB made him who he is today, without Joe W and BB Arnie would be a fucking goat herder .

But I still think he has one of the best original physiques of all time

I agree with Vander about the Oak's physique but I think the governator is a f'n sellout. Can't blame a guy for looking out for himself but he of all people should know what we face as BBers today.... and he obviously could care less. First they criminalize roids, then they start working on the supplement market. Before you know it you won't even be able to buy Flintstone vitamins.....f'n goverment is out of control.

This garbage has gone too far, our government is out of control. Like everyone has said, Arnold could have taken a stand on the gear position a long time ago, he has the ability to dispel all of the lies that are perpetuated through mass media hysteria. He could get a group of anti-aging doctors and sue on behalf of responsible citizens for proper drug classifications. But he knows he would be called a "teen killer" for speaking out on the subject, so he stays mum. I yearn for the days of Ronald Reagan, yeah some may hate him, but he was the one who told the faggots like Dick Durbin to take a hike with steroid reclassification back in 1987. Only when we had a Bush in the White House, that is when all of the troubles began. George Bush 1 allowed those scare merchants to criminalize the use of gear without a wimper from his bull pulpit.

ok this is just the beginng IMO of course ..

these things will happen in say 2 to 3 dayz after Mr. "O"
there will be say 10 -12 proshow's in europe, all a new organinzation lets say ..

2 or 3 shows in the US , and maybe and with Arnold already leaving the affiliation with THAT show ... he will lets say again affiliate with another federation with maybe lets say a Drug tested Arnold Classic ..catching on yet ,whats that make Arnold ? A hero . whats that do to the IFBB ? which affects who the NPC , correct?

this affectin is made worse by lets say ..the biggest amature organization in the World MAYBE IM JUST GUESSING REMEMBER .. clabba or zabba ?? some name slips my old memory ,

so since these two ...... one new Pro and one old big world wide amature organization come together then i believe with that all in place

maybe before each Pro show they will have a "wildcard pro Qualifier " for the top winner to turn Pro and next day compete in his first Pro Show , maybe i dream alot maybe not.. that might build up some athletes maybe ???

or do you think since the IfBB and the NPC are ran so well and judged magnificatly ,with the finances arragnged in the best possable way for the Athlete's that No athlete would leave to go in to something i just made up ? would they ?
