Insulin OTC in NY?

Does anyone know if insulin is OTC in NY, and if so is only Humalin-R OTC, Humalog sometimes requires a script?

Certainly Humulin-R can be purchased over the counter.
This is so that if a diabetic is away from home, or runs out on their perscription, they won't be forced into a life-threatening situation.

While I can't say that insulin use is the safest thing to do, you should be able to simply go to the pharmacy counter and request it without a prescription.
