LBA v.s. Whey?

Im trying to figure out a cost/benefit ratio for all the whey protien I use v.s. lba's. Clearly 15grams of LBA's is better than 15grams of whey but anyone have an idea how much better? Are we talking double? 25%,etc... I know nobody can get an exact figure here, but I consume 350grams of protien daily. About 150grams come from meats and the other 200grams come from a normal whey. So from personal expirence from LBA users here, how many grams of lba daily would you GUESS is close to around what 200grams of protien would give yah. Sorry to be so anal, I just would freak out if I dropped my protien count and started dropping muscle. Thanks guys.

i use them both together. which makes them both last longer and keeps cost at a min. 3 tbsp of lba 3 x a day, and 3 scoops of whey, 4 x aday. the rest comes from, chicken, orange roughy, egg whites, and non fat milk.
just my 2 cents
god bless

like you mentioned yourself stop being so anal. i bet if you didnt worry about a specific number and just focused on balancing everything instead of focusing on hammering grams and grams of protein you would look leaner, feel better and grow despite hitting a certain magical #.

i grow better on 240g of protein with a balance of carbs and fats than i do forcing down 400+ grams of protein.

I discovered the same thing through Phil Hernon's advice. I had been hammering way too much protein trying to pick up muscle and i didnt need it. Just made me gain bodyfat. The LBAs are nice because they are so effective. I take in about 80 grams/day of LBAs, and I used to take in over 200g/day of whey. Getting better results off of the LBAs. Best thing too is that they mix with water so easily, taste good, and you can drink it really fast.

but taking it one step further......something i realized when i quit focusing on getting 400g or more of protein and quit using whey protein so much. i started eatting a larger portion of my protein from real foods: eggs, fish (tilapia and tuna), chicken, turkey and now only as of late lean ground beef. since i wasnt trying to get this high number i found i could get what i needed from the real stuff without stuffing myself or dreading have to force down 12-16oz of something. i found i no longer needed supplements or to put it better i now only used supplements as just that, to supplement the diet. now i actually use supplements for what they really are and i think that is why i made the gains i did last year. even post workout now instead of going for a whey shake or whatever dextrose this or waxy maize that, none of it. i have a can of tuna, some olive oil and some grape juice. if the supplment industry dissappeared tomorrow would bodybuilding die, would guys suddenly start shrinking......no, guys would start focusing on what should have been priority #1 to begin with and be better than ever.

when i use lba's now i only use them on top of what i am eatting and dont even count the protein it adds to my diet and only use whey protein when i have no other option do to time and work constraint which is usually only once per day.

Very well put Mr. Edge! I use LBA's currently with my diet and think they are a great benefit. The more whole food you get in far outways protein shakes, but they do have their place in certain situations. Plus LBA's in a protein shake taste great! I am looking forward to when I can have that combo again. I usually have double scoop proteins with a dose of LBA's 2 x per day when I am on a regular diet. I also take LBA's up too and including the day of my contest.

I use from 1/2 to 3/4 bottle of LBA's a day. I hardly eat any protein. I eat mostly carbs. Almost all my protein comes from the LBA's. I have been getting very good results.

I switched from 500g per day which was Whey and other stuff, to less than 100 with 6oz of LBAs plus some fish and chicken. I gain at the same rate as before but feel MUCH better.

I switched out my whey powder (VP2) for LBA's awhile ago and will never go back to the powder again.

im the same as all these guy's, the LBA's are much better than whey, there really is no comparrison.

SO for example, sometimes I really hate to eat. Say its time for 10oz chicken and a potato with some olive oil. Can I just still eat the potato and olive oil and maybe add like 3tbsp's of LBA's and get the same muscle building effects as if I would have had the 10oz chicken.

1 tbsp. is about 5grams of protein, but to answer your question yes, you can sub whatever protein you were gonna eat for LBA's instead.

This is such a great post, it should be a sticky. Some of the best advice I have read in a long while. Nice job Edge!

My old training partner tried emphasizing the importance of whole foods through the following: take any supplement and lay it alongside a raw peice of meat or any whole food out in the sun and see which the animals choose to eat. Necessity is the mother of invention and supplements have their place...only when you can't get whole foods.

I posted this before, WHEY PROTEIN IS NOT THE BEST TO PREVENT MUSCLE BRAKE DOWN. Yes you will do better with 200g LAB than with 400g whey.

What do you guys think about smaller portions of meat with added lba's. For example, im sure many of you get sick of eating meat 3-4times per day at 8-10oz. Maybe having like 4oz of chicken with a few tbsp's of lba's would be a good idea.

I'm a firm believer that you should get protein from a variety of sources. Mainly from whole foods and then round it out with some LBA's and a bit of whey.

Just picked up a case from phil. He is damn fast at anwsering pm's and very helpful. Ive used these once in the past but was bulking with lots of gh/slin/aas,etc.. so I didnt know what was working. I will now try them while dieting and only on TRT and cjc1295. I loved the choc flavor so much in the past im gonna use it as a syrup in my cottage cheese,oats,etc... :) gonna be expiermenting with it this time on diff foods and cutting my whey protein down and replacing it with lba's. Im too scared to replace my whey intake from 200grams of whey substitued with 100grams of lba's but im gonna try replacing my 200grams of whey per day with 70grams of lba's and see how it goes.

Just got my amino's. Fast shipping and good service from Phil. Much appreciated. Last time I got them about a year ago and the bottles now are much nicer. No leaks, cant wait to try em again. Anyone know how long they stay food for if mixed in some water? Like maybe put a few tbsp in a gallon of water and drink it all day long? Also, its ok to take them with a meal as well correct?
