Once again, I was right. Matt ended the fight quickly and easily, making Royce look sad. Do you people know how hard it is to be right ALL THE TIME!!!

Can't forget Diego's fight either. Damn that white boy had some of the best defense I've seen. Now if he can get his offense to match it, he'll be hard to stop. Diego was looking like he didn't know what the hell to do anymore.

No problem, Tom, ol' buddy. It really was pretty pitiful. The evolution of the sport was very apparent. Matt just mauled him.

YEAH.. IT WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE.. gracie wass completely dominated in the ground game.. that is supposed to be his whole game.. matt killed in the ground game and then punched the crap out of him.. he could not even defend himself.. he has been left behind.. the game has evolved.. more talent and better skills.. matt is just too strong.. he is a stud.. period..

heck.. it only lasted a few minutes..

I liked how Matt downplayed his win afterwards when Joe Rogan interviewed him.

Its not just about evolution of the sport, Royce had a huge disadvantage when it came to age the most, and strength/conditioning. I feel bad for Royce, I wish he would have went out with a bit more fight but I have a lot of respect for him. It looked like Matt was going to break his arm in 2 at one point and Royce didn't even make a facial expression let alone tap. Matt even said he knew Royce wouldn't ever tap and he was hoping john M would see the arm bar and stop the fight.

Dieago fight? Just by comparing stats on both fighters Dieago should have walked through him. Dieago's stand up is not impressive, and his take down offense proved he needs some work tonight. Other fighters in his class would destroy him I think like Georges St Piere, Hughes, or even BJ Penn. Once dieago fight's some one will some real skill he may be in for a reality check.

I am so dumb, I accidently hit the yellow triangle (accept) button on my remote when I tried to stop it. I accepted the deletion of the recorded PPV. My girl friend is going to kill me she is out of town we are supposed to watch it together when she get's back tommorow night. Nothing I can really do about it now but I feel shitty.

I agree. Royce looked like he knew his arm could break, but his face was just like "fuck it". And yeah, I can't wait until Diego fights somebody with real talent. I can't stand how he's always going "this is my destiny". He's a freakin' weirdo.

The ufc is up on the torrents, if anyone missed. Most fights are also on youtube.com including Hughes/Gracie

I expected Hughes to win easily, but that was beyond easy. Probably the most one sided fight I've seen if UFC in recient memory. Royce had zero offence. I was stunned. I just kept thinking that's Royce. Strength had to be a major factor. I rarely have seen that straight armlock (sorry don't know the fancy name) used sucessfully w/o a large strenght difference. Just stunning to watch the total domination of a legend....

Yea I felt sorry for the ole fella.
He didnt give up though, even when his arm was getting Bent in and his head bouncing off the Matt the guy didnt quit...ref had to stop it.

Diego sucked, he lost imo

Vera looked good! Im ready to see him fight again. Hes good but not as good as he thinks I dont beleive he will be the Heavy and Light heavy champ as he claims.

I felt bad for Joyce Gracie.

It's was hard for me to watch actually. I thought Hughes was going to win....as soon as I heard about the fight. I agree with what was said earlier.....strength played a huge role in that fight. It looked like Hughes could have just pulled free of any choke Gracie put on him ....IF that would have taken place.

Some guys age better than others....and it was so obvious that Joyce hadn't done much strength training in his life...because at 40 he looked pretty flacid....he got away with that at 26 just ...youthful strength and vigor...but at 40 with no real strength and power base...he just looked like a leaf in a wind storm to me. Regardless of the evolution...I think he'd have fared much better in his younger days.

I admire the guy though..no quit in him....that arm....he would have just let it break, you could tell. I actuallly think Hughes had mercy on him once he saw the ref wouldn't stop the fight. I believe he could have snapped it.

I gained more respect for Hughes at the end of the fight when he didn't gloat or dance around like some of those dickheads do after a win. He was respectful of Joyce Gracie, by saying "well Joyce isn't used to these timed rounds or I'd have been in trouble"....that showed some humility.

Hughes totally kicked Gracies ass and it was painful to watch...then what really sucked was they showed his[gracie's] family in the locker room [after the fight]girls crying, Joyce looking devasted....invading a private moment like that was bullshit.

Thats because he is a man. I wish we would see more of that in sports today. A guy with a little humility goes a long way. Member when franklin beat the shit otta shamrock , he when up to him and said thanks for the opprotunity.Liked that guy ever scince.

Dean Lister....he's one of the best submission grappling guys in the world. He's an Abu Dahbi Wolrd Champion (Its the Super Bowl of Sub-Wrest). In the past he wasn't all that good at striking and got taken by good strikers like Sakara - good to see him go out and make it look easy.

Dean Lister. When he was walking in I commented that he had that same smarmy fuck look that Frank Mir had. I thought he'd have it smacked off his face like Mir did. FAT CHANCE, Lister was way in control. That dude followed his guy around like it was all set up, he was impresive. I'm a fan of his now.
