Metal ripped off vial (is this normal?)

Hey all - I hope this is the correct place to ask this- I received an order of test and I’ve opened three vials - they have all had the metal ring tear completely off. Before I message the sponser - I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with this happening. Thanks!

Definitely not normal. Ive had this happen maybe twice in my life and I've been using gear for 10-12 years.

Yup a few times but that ugl stuff so they don't clamp it right with the tool.I have the tool to put new tops if that ever happened. Now I don't have that problem with the brand I use .not even once and been over 2 years with same brand

I had it happen with 6 out of 6 vials of test 400 I got back in like 2004 I believe..was doomsday!!

OP, look up my posts in the QSC thread. I specifically addressed this issue and the simple solution. Just take a bit of care to not rip the metal off haphazardly. And for reference, the tops are similar to the pic @SOUR DIESEL posted above.

Oh, and Bio's suggestion would work too, haha.

Hey - thanks - I’ve definitely been as careful as possible with the tops. As far as my expectations - I’ve buying gear for about 20 years and never experienced this, so that’s why I’m checking with others - to see what the consensus is. If this is an unheard of error, Then I would expect my gear to be replaced with something doesn’t fall apart.

Not trying to be a dick here but it looks like taking the entire top off isn't needed to use the product. The one that did you can still use it with a little negative pressure. These tops are cheap and they probably just got some ones that are just a bad batch. Not really a suppliers fault per se. I wouldn't be concerned with actually using the product. While it might look a little ragged I get that but nothing you can't salvage. Might want to open the rest of these color tops with a small file or something and just stick it under the plastic and pry it open little by little all the way around while maintaining pressure on the outer lower metal.. Of course your always welcome to talk to the supplier about it but why go through the hassle when you still have a usable product

Strictly my personal thoughts..

You’re likely to receive more of the same if they replace your order which I wouldn’t count on. My preferred sponsor is a guaranteed sponsor and I wouldn’t go any other way so keep that in mind for the future.

Based on the pics I personally wouldn’t be concerned about using it if they were in my hands so long as no rubber was damaged. I would give the tops a quick wipe with alcohol before use which I do anyway when I first pop a top. I also use the empty wrapper from alcohol wipes as temporary covers over the rubber.

If you feel the least bit concerned in your gut.. be safe.. toss it.. and try to work it out with your sponsor.

I actually had that happen to a vial of test prop where part of the steel came off. I went to pull it out one day and the bag it was in was soaked with oil - the rubber had shot out on its own at some point.

I've had a handful of vials where the steel came off and they've been from one of the top, long-running sponsors here. I don't care if the steel comes off as long as the product is good.

^^^ummm if it is indeed those vial tops ..then yeah!!

the pics i posted above are actually special tops ..they'r not exactly "rare" ..but some seem to struggle with them


..so common sense would tell you that if you rip the top all the way down the side then you will have at least "compromised" your top
(..this is obvious ..so you don't have to be very clever to see this)

..& if common sense didn't teach you this ..then experience will should ..you shouldn't be making the same mistake 3 times


SOOO how are you supposed to use these particular tops?
→ if you look close at those tops ..you will notice that they have "arrows" ..you pop the top off in that direction
..then you leave it like that ..YES YOU LEAVE IT LIKE THAT ..it will still be connected to 1 side of the steel ring
..now the vial is open ..the rubber stopper is exposed ..& ready to be swab'd with alcohol so you can spike it & withdraw your dose
(..you may push the top back down when you'r done)

..ok ..THEN when you get to the end of your vial ..THEN you peel it all the way down the side
..remove the ring
..remove the stopper
..tilt your vial
..use a needle & syringe to withdraw the last bit at the bottom that usually gets thrown out


►personally i just rip the top to the other side of the center-circle
..then i just fold it back & forth a few times ..& it falls off
..press any edges back down

^^^well if those are the tops ..then it looks like you just didn't know how to open them properly

.."IF" this is this case (..which i don't that it is) ..then what do you think the sponsor owes you?

..clearly you didn't know how to use or deal with this type of top ..& just started rippin' away ..lol

..this is what i can tell you ..your tops are not defective ..or broken ..they'r just a slightly different animal
..they just got the best of you a lil bc you hadn't seen or dealt with them before
