Nightime lifters.. What does your PWO shake look like?

My workout time is between 5 and 7 PM after i already have consumed 4 or 5 meals and 1 or 2 snacks.. My standard PWO shake has been 50 - 60 grams whey and 75 - 100 grams simple carbs..

The problem with all those carbs late night is that i feel bloated after my shake and tend to skip my before bed snack since im not hungry.. I was also wondering what is the point of all those carbs before bed.. I eat a decent amount throughout the day since i am bulking and im sure my glycogen stores are not completely drained after an hour and a half weight workout..

Also, if i train closer to 7 PM and get home around 8:30 / 9 PM and pound a big shake, its harder for me to fall asleep around 11 PM..

I was thinking of reducing my simple carbs around 25-30 grams for my PWO shake.. So i have a bit of an appetite around 10:30/ 11 PM and can have a protein snack before bed.. Am i hindering my recovery by consuming a small amount of PWO carbs???
 
I would maintain the carbs. The reason to cut carbs before bedtime, is of course to prevent them going to fat. But in this timeframe they still have something to fuel other than fat cells, and that is the replenishment of the glycogen in your muscles. I say keep the carbs high for a month and moniter your progress and if you aren't piling on fat, then no big deal, keep em high. Consuming them around nine and hitting the sack around 11pm should be no problem at all pwo.
 
the carbs that you have throughout the day won't do too much in regards to replenishing your glycogen after your workout . stick to your usual shake and have a different carb source instead to see if the bloat goes away . ever tried waxy maize starch ? if taken with enough water you won't feel bloated at all . after your workout, your glycogen ,from the muscles trained , will be depleted >>> especially after 90 min. the longer you wait the slower is the rate of glycogen replenishment / hr . those carbs won't add fat to you . you might want to reduce your carbs throughout the day to keep BF levels at bay but make sure that you are taking care of business after your workout .

6:30pm PWO 50 grams of whey, 80 grams of waximaise

7:30pm 6-8 oz of lean meat, 1 cup rice, vegtables

9:00pm 1-2 oz. of almonds

10-11pm 50 grams of casin protein
