no carbs before lifting?

I just got done cutting not too long ago and never ate carbs before w/o and pumps and energy were great but now that Iv'e started to incorporate them prior to lifting I lost all energy and lifts are going down. Anybody else train better without carbs?
 
What kind of carbs and how many? I can see like 100g of glucose giving you a blood sugar crash mid workout, but a bowl of oatmeal an hour before should give you a nice energy boost.

Training on a emty stomach to me is the way to go, i even read that its suppose to be better training because it release more GH and Testosterone.

Food digestion impair.

In my opinion train on empty stomach.
 
If eating X makes your training better, then, by all means, eat X. Pretty simple, really.

Me, personally? I can't function well without carbs for anything, much less high-intensity physical training.

Absolutely agree with this! Anytime I have food in my stomach during workout I start burping, feel crappy, and sometimes feel like almost puking.
 
i have to have a little something in my belly(carbs)....

but not too much cause then i'll feel crappy and burppy.....


a little oatmeal an hour or so b4 is good 4 me....

You need to eat 2 to3 hr before training.
 
I train in the morning, about a 45 minutes after waking up.
I never had carbs prior to the workout and only drink water during.

A couple months ago I started having some carbs when I woke up, it didn't help my workouts at all and I started putting on fat.

Now I'm back to my original way. My Phil provided workouts only take about 20-25 minutes though and I am starving afterwards.
 
You need to eat 2 to3 hr before training.

I do. I eat plenty before workouts but I was just saying anytime I have eaten right before workout no matter how little it just causes problems. Always wait at least an hour after eating before going to the gym.
 
Protein and fat 2 hours before lifting
15 - 20 Min before lifting LBAs
Directly after workout carbs only
45 Min after lifting protein and fat
 
For me its 1 scoop cold filtered whey isolate from True Protein, 7g instantized L-Leucine, 2 teaspoons MCT oil immediately upon awakening at 5:30am. Train at 6am sipping on another serving of the above throughout the workout.
Its been working great. No nausea at all - DC workouts for me. I have managed to add 5 lbs during my latest contest prep. :D

same here, the only thing i might eat is 2-4 egg whites and that's only cause they sit easy in the stomach
 
3/4c quik oats cooked w 40g whey an hour b4 honey n PB to taste
i wake up ravagely hungry so if i go train w/o eating i may indeed rip someones head off in traffic on the way
