Nutritional Info on Protein Bars ???

I think I remembered someone saying that the Designer Whey Detour and Joyride bars didn't have all the protein they were supposed to and also had more sugar than labeled. Did anyone hear anything else on this?

um yep!

designer whey got in trouble for "lying" about the nutritional info on those bars.. they are actually about the same nutritional value as a snickers bar but with a lil bit more protein =shit! also the trioplex bars are the culprit as well.. they lied saying the bars have between 9-11 net carbs... bullshit. they tested them and found that they actually have 380-425 calories a bar and 60 grams of carbs with 35 grams of sugar and way more fat than youd seen on the label! soo, my opinion with these bars are, if its too good to be true then it probably is... the better the bars taste.. the worse they are for you... no one really knows what they pack into those things anyways, which is why ill never eat one ever again. (but they did taste dam good!!)

i heard the detour bars where way over in the sugar dept as well when they first came out...but hey sure where good...i tried a triplex bar as well a few months ago very good as well filling and sweet, ill save those for bulking... kinda sucks we really dont know what where getting all the time chrst for the money i woul expect it...what do you guys think if nitro tech bars i know over prices but i love the stwrabery cheese cake....ahhhhh cheesecake im have some of that sun night!! cant wait...jimmy58

Like Jimmy said...I remember when the detour bars came out, someone called them out on their label claims as some tests were done and they were off. I believe they have since corrected the problem.

....I have been using Trio-Plex bars when I travel for serious convenience initially due to the nutritional info posted. Before I even heard anything I was like, "What's up with this???" I could just tell by the way I felt and looked that that week on the road downing Trio-Plex Bars, Whey protein, and some occasional packaged tuna, grilled chicken and salad that something was up! It definitely wasn't the chicken and salad!! Now Trio-Plex has changed thier labels for a 2nd time....
