I earned around 100.000$ my first year and worked 190 days, this year will be better.
I was an auto mechanic before, but I work with people from all kinds of background, on a job now with a former butcher.
as i mentioned in an earlier post i didn't do any offshore stuff but worked in remote locations. right now my buddy stuck it out with the rig work and is working for trican in russia making +200K/yr as a coil tubing supervisor. working a month on month off. if i was a young guy with no children thats probably a good decision esp considering the future of oil. get to travel the world and see a lot. if i had kids and no options i'd look for a gig thats 2 weeks on 2 weeks off thats more local. i use to do 15 days on 6 days off which was a bit harder on the family. but i was fortunate to be a 8 hour drive away.
