wanna get a good one for my wife for christmas, what should i look for??


the one i have now came free with my pc and is a piece of crap, i think it is 2 megapixels.

I have a Minolta 5megapixel, its tiny and takes great pics..Minolta was just bought by Sony too so I would take a look at both of those lines as they make great camera's IMO.

I was chatting with a camera guy and he was saying the average person does not need over 3.3 megapixels...he said save your money and there is no need for the 8.0 or 9.0 unless you plan on taking professional pics.

SO I would say the sony slim cam 5.0 should be plenty.


WATCH OUT for the online camera places...like if you google sony cams...they are LEECHES...yeah the camera looks cheap, but they will lie to you and say oh yeah it only comes with a 10min battery...but as long I have known no one would sell a product with a 10min battery...they try and sell you all these damn accesories...it is so shitty...I just told the guy to kiss my ass and cancel the order I will order from someone else.

Like a computer they say to buy a digi cam/camera with as much memory and mexapixel your money can stand. (i dont know cameras haha)

But if you head over to www.overstock.com they have some awesome cameras at dirt cheap prices! And many of them have user reviews on them too. Hope this helps.

I just got a powershot, it can even make a little movie......Should take me a year to figure it out but it's great and only a couple of hundred bucks.

Thanks to that site, I just picked up a Canon PowerShot A540 for my parents from $125 after rebate from OfficeDepot. The special runs until tomorrow.

mine is 6 megapixel 10X optical zoom,,,love it!

buncha megapixels and high optical zoom. Digital zooms can make the pic grainy. Pixels will fix that though. Talk to a prophotog.I had family pics done tonight and she had an 8 magepixel. Maga buck though with changeable lenses, it was cool.
