A post I did not think I'd be making at the age of 42 (wife also 42). The only reason I'm making this thread is to encourage people to make sure your significant others get mammograms as recommended (and any health screening for those of us 40-50+)
We are at "stage zero" with a spectacular prognosis...but without screening, I'd likely be typing this same message several years from now with a murkier outlook.
Ductal Carcinoma in Situ is tissue contained in the duct (there is no lump or tumor and in Europe it's more thought of as "pre cancer"). A little tiny "white thing" that looked like a calcification on the mammogram showed up and then a biopsy showed cancer. I haven't posted much around here, between my wife and work it's been nutty. No smoking, no drinking, works out, and not a family history of really cancer at all and she has a massive family. Pretty crazy. Surgery is 4/1 and we are going pretty aggressive due to her age.
So yeah, health screening is important.
Hope everyone is doing well.
