OK, now Firefox is crashing the same way as Explorer was.
Everything in the computer is new. I have Norton and Norman installed, as well as AntiSpyware and Ad-aware SE. Nothing gets through.
Did this problem exist before or after you had 2 Antivirus and 2 Spyware programs on your computer? If you had any of the combination, it sounds like you may have conflicting software. 2 antivirus programs should not be run at the same time, ever. On executable files, Windows kernel gets a handle on the file it is about to execute, which is basically a memory address or "hook". At that point the kernel hands the executable file off to any antivirus & some anti spyware protection it is aware of to check for malware (malicious software; spyware and virus). Once processed the antivirus either stops it from executing or allows it. The only thing is, that the handle it receives locks the file and only allows one at a time. This could be where you are having a problem. If 2 scanners whether it be virus or *active* spyware scanner. (some spyware scanners are set to not run in the background and if it were set like that it would not effect anything.)
2 firewalls also can cause a problem let alone 3. So if Windows by default, has it's firewall turnined on and Norman and Norton have theirs on, this has the ability to cause a crash or lock also
My suggestion is that if you have the install disks for all of your antispyware and antivirus, uninstall them all temporarily (you can always simply re-install them later). Reboot then try out your browser. We need a baseline to work with.
Has there been any other program you installed since you bought the computer? If so can you give me the names?
Also, if you want great virus protection, and you want more than one scanning engine, check out F-Secure at f-secure.com. They have 4 active scanning engines running at one time, BUT the thing is, it all uses the same hook on the process. So there will be no conflicts between them.
