Personal Training Question....

Most gyms in my area charge their clients between 20 to 45 an hour for training, with the trainer keeping around half. The question I have is this:

Do most of you who work as a PT do so as your primary source of income and if so do you work for a gym (like the situation I wrote above), or do you go to whatever gym your client works out at, pay the daily gym pass fee, and collect a larger hourly rate since you dont have to split it.

Some guys do, but you must have a great clientel in order to pay the bills on that salary. Most folks do it part time to supplement their incomes. Sometimes I do what you said, go to their gym pay the visitors fee and train them. Or they come to my gym "I pay" their visitor fee wich is sometimes 5 or 10 bucks and then I train them at my gym. The one thing you do not want to do it let it out at your gym the you train folks on the side there. There are some folks that just hate to see someone get ahead and they'll dime you right out. Also do not give out business cards at your gym.(unless your personal training there) Someone(owner) could trace it back to you and your out on your butt. Good Luck bro!

Fees

What you have posted is what my home gym does. 30 an hour and split 15 and 15. Kind of a rip off as they get membership money too. Have a few "clients" that have them get a membership them have them "train" with me that day as like the previous thread said gym is full of lot of jealous hateful people that run to the office like grade school.
