Pork?

Chickens are also cannibals and they will eat a significant amount of meat.
I've seen ours dig through horse shit to get bugs and seeds , I've seen them attack and eat other chickens that get hurt or old , I've ever have them pick at deer carcasses we set aside while we clean other deer.
I still eat those delicious little fuckers and their eggs

Yea I know, my chickens used to pick off little birds that landed to get their feed. But they’re not natural carnivores, doves, quails and pigeons are also blood thirsty always found that odd…

In Spain where I´m from we eat every part of the pork, ears, feet, the nose, and they´re delicious. The amount of pork cold meats / charcuterie we have is also massive, my favourite is what we call "Pata Negra" Iberico Acorn ham, derived from free roaming black skin pigs fed only acorns and grass, amazing flavour and probably my favourite food, it is expensive though:

Coming in a close second is cochinillo or suckling pig, crispy skin and super tender melt in your mouth meat, check out how they cut and serve it in Segovia:

I´ll never understand why an animal that can feed you so well, shares 95% of our DNA and who´s organs are most compatible with ours for transplants is vilified.

Iberico pig is literally some of the best in the word

i posted a pretty stupid thread about the parasites in pork.
pour a coke on a coke and supposedly worm looking things crawl to surface
that completely disgusted me
cant eat pork now... even though i was convinced it was a click bait fake viral video....
what is seen cant be unseen

From what I understand the risk of parasites is significantly lower with farm raised as they are exposed to fewer parasites that are in nature. The numbers are certainly lower now than ever: https://www.cdc.gov/parasites/trichinellosis/epi.html

And seeing as how that is direct from the CDC.....................................................who would never fib.............................lol. I will say pre-emptively calm down certain people, I am joking.

This thread reminds me I need to pull some pork chops out of the freezer for the weekend!

Pigs and shrimp are scavengers. I stay away from them. The cholesterol levels are super high. Check the nutrition labels. I rather not eat something that eats shit.
It’s been scientifically proven that high cholesterol intake does not correlate to high blood cholesterol

Try soaking your strawberries in a mild solution of salt, water, and vinegar sometime and watch how many bugs come out of them

Why the hell would I want to do that lol, I want to still like food lol. I used

Insects are in just about all foods I think. Even cereals produced in a big factory, like corn flakes, have a maximum allowance of bug parts per volume.

pretty sure it is proven that the majority of cholesterol in the blood stream is naturally produced in the body and not from diet.

"Your genetic makeup – not diet – is the driving force behind cholesterol levels, says Dr. Nissen. “The body creates cholesterol in amounts much larger than what you can eat, so avoiding foods that are high in cholesterol won’t affect your blood cholesterol levels very much.”

"Should you actually worry about cholesterol in food? The greater danger for everyone is in foods that are high in trans fats.

“Those often appear on food labels as hydrogenated oils or partially hydrogenated vegetable oil,” he says. “Those types of fats do tend to raise cholesterol and do tend to increase the risk of heart disease.”

All in all, look for trans fat and saturated fat on labels at the grocery store. The American Heart Association recommends limiting dietary saturated fat intake and focusing more on eating fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean animal protein or plant protein sources."

Yes. So basically for every box of Cheerios you eat you’re consuming 2-3 crickets lol
