Pork?

Technically woodchuck is not pork but 50 years ago as a kid I would sit in a nearby field with my .22 and pick off a couple...after dressing them my grandma had a way of cooking it like slow cooked roast...we would tear it apart after...it tasted just like pulled pork that is available today...
Woodchuck/ground hog is delicious when cooked right and it's very lean like most rodents

I eat it mostly every day. We also get wild pig here and it is very good when prepared properly. Here in Romania, I don't know too many who don't eat pork. I get lean cuts when I eat it and barbecue it on a grill.

Mici is a Romanian dish consisting of grilled ground meat made from a mixture of beef, lamb and pork with spices. Absolutely love it.

Man I just looked at pictures of Mici out of curiosity from your post....literally drooling now. Another reason to visit Romania someday...I’ve wanted to go for years now because of the wilderness/climbing there. It looks so beautiful.
 
Another pro of pork is that, as you see above, some people DO seem to be under the impression that it's an inferior meat, which often means you can find it on sale quite often. More for us, goddammit!

I can get pork tenderloin even cheaper than chicken breast and it's a hell of a lot more exciting. Honestly you can just rub down a tenderloin with mustard, dry seasoning, whatever, pop it in the oven and it comes out amazing. Air fryer, just cut it up, throw some season on, bam you've got plenty of LEAN protein for the day

I challenge guys to change out chicken breast for pork tenderloin as a change of pace. I guarantee you'll love it as long as you know how to cook it

Brother, I’ve killed, butchered, and processed everything type of protein that walks, flies, or swims…you can get it all to do that.

just like with gear, it’s important to know your source.

I’m doing that roughly for the next 2 months…I’ve already did it for around 6 weeks
 
Religious entanglements aside, hell yeah pork! Lean pork is anabolic AF from slow roast to tenderloin to bone-in chops. As long as you make sure you cook it all above 160° - 170°F all that old testament stuff can be disregarded. Undercooked meats were a problem. But today If you haven't enjoyed a pulled-pork sandwich? Delicious. That's practically my whole summer (3 months)! I still trust fatty acids over carbs. I can't believe the carbs y'all consume. Junk food, sweets, candy... Cmon...

Damn, I keep forgetting you are in Romania now. I'll have to look up Mici, it sounds awesome. My cousin was gonna move to Romania last year and marry a guy from there, but I think they split up, lol.

I love pork....healthy and unhealthy. I just could not live with myself to not eat a good pork butt/shoulder, ribs, loin, belly, etc, etc a few times a year, or a few times each month. But yea, pork, specifically certain cuts are very healthy now and have a lasting bad stigma behind them.

haha...my mom's family came from Portugal in the 1890's to California, most all owned dairies. It was pretty much dairy and whole cooked pigs:D

Wild hogs are so abundant here too in certain states. As long as they are handled right and cooked to temp, i'd eat them all the time. I need to hook up with somebody out here to do a hog hunt, but Cali is so restrictive, I don't know all the ins-n-outs, lol.

A note for fellow Cali residents....yea, that state:(

January of 2021 Pork will see an increase in price so i'd keep that in mind and stock up by the end of the year...if bought from the store.

Yep. Bacon will be essentially impossible to get unless they give them a temporary moratorium on buying non compliant pork until cali farms meet standards
