Platelett Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy. has anyone had this done and how did you like it? i might be having this done to my left shoulder soon and want to see how some of yall like it.
Had it done on both knee and loved it!!! See if your doctor will use the fat matrix and what else he/she might add to the mix. My doctor uses all sorts of stuff from hgh, igf-1 to stem cells. I went from not being able to train legs or even walk up and down my stairs because of pain to training legs lightly a week after first treatment and being back to the heavy stuff within 3 weeks.
I'm getting it now.I got two prolo shots first and then he changed to prp the last one. It's been about 4 weeks and it still hurts. He is also trying to break up a bone chip too. But I will say that the next day that shit hurts.
I go back on the 12th to see if the tare is healing or not.
more or less what they do is draw some of your blood and put it in a certrifuge to seperate the plasma. then they inject the plasma into the injury to speed up recovery. this is supposed to work because tendons and ligaments do not have very good blood flow so they don't get much in the way of nutrients to recover from an injury, by injecting the plasma the injury gets the nutrients it needs to recover.
in response to thundergod, i have no idea what the doctor plans on adding. to be honest i didn't even know that they would/could add anything other than just the plasma. how long did you have to wait after your first two injections to start training heavy again, i was told i would have to wait 2 weeks to start lifting heavy again after my two injections.
I've been looking into PRP myself. Just curious what it cost? I called a Doc in may area and was told the "kit" cost $550 cash since insurance won't pay for the procedure. I was surprised that it cost so much. Has anyone tried Prolo therapy vs PRP? I'm wondering which works better?
