So my oldest son is 4&1/2 and is diagnosed ASD(Autism Spectrum Disorder). And while there are at least 80 known manifestations of this the most obvious for Sampson is social interaction and speech. The social interaction doesn't worry me as much because he's in a play therapy group twice a week and goes to full day pre-school with children who also have special needs. It's the speech that concerns me the most. One year ago he barely spoke and knew maybe for or five words which made it nearly impossible to communicate. Within the past year his speech ability has exploded and he only stops talking while asleep. My concern is that he still can't ask or respond to questions, choose between two objects or distinguish between 'yes' and 'no'. My wife took him to our ASD specialist last week and asked her if he will ever be able to hold 'normal' conversations and she said that as long as he continues his speech therapy in school and independently it is likely that he will in a few years before he is 10. When I heard this news I cried tears of joy! To any of you on here that have children you'll understand. Bodybuilders have feelings to :headbang:
