Scott Abels training style

Anyone ever used and if so what was your results. He uses what he calls weight constant training for the big compound lifts and then something like a 3 sets of 8 to 12 reps for the isolation exercies.

say for chest:
inc DB: 6 sets of 8 keeping the weight constant and not going to failure.
flat DB: same
inc flye: 3 sets of 10 to 12

I've done both invervation training and his whole body hypertrophy training. The guy knows his stuff and I've seen nothing but great results! But I'm not sure what you mena by not going to falure..... I've always trained to failure. He has tons of different styles of programs tho.
 
a guy I know down here in Austin name Ken O'Neil is working Scott to produce a book about his training style
