I was searching for some new flexibility ideas over at the Sherdog forum for my grappling game since years of weightlifting & age has made me very tight.

In one of the threads a guy links to one of Shelby. I thought it was pretty cool.

Great stretch! I did it yesterday but could only handle 10 lbs. :eek:

Aloha AD,

No disrespect but that stretch will utimately do more damage than good. If you want significant improvement in your flexibility it's important to respect and work with the length tension relationship that agonist and antagonist muscle groups have. This type of stretching does not take this into account.

AIS (Active Isolated Stretching) created by Aaron Mattes in Sarasota Florida, is the best flexibility system I've ever come across. I use it personally and have used with a variety of clients for the last 16 years. The results are dramatic. Quantifiable ROM increases in a very short amount of time.

Also, Feldenkrais therapy will reorganize your neuromuscular patterns by unwinding incorrect and inhibited movement patterns. Nothing else even comes close in the field of body/ mind therapies- straight up.
