sick of oatmeal for breakfast, whats a good replacement

dieting down for an upcoming trip to the beach and i am sick of oatmeal in the morning for breakfast. i currently eat about a 1/2 cup each morning. whats a good replacement? dont know if fruit would be a good one or not, guess it depends on the fruit. can you guys please point me in the right direction. thanks

eating a sweet potato about mid day, like them but not that much, oh well guess i have to rough it out, gonna try those one cup quaker oats deals that are flavored. cinnamon roll oatmeal for one cup is only 3g fat, 41g carbs, and 4g protein. think those should work out.

Man i eat so much oatmeal that i can't phucen stand it either.
This is what i found to help. For my morning meals i now put 60-90g of protien powder, 50 - 100gs of carbs from oatmeal, splenda(sugar equivalent), cinnamon and water in a shaker cup. Shake it for a while then drop in the fridge for 10 mins to let the oatmeal soften and then drink it down.

Mike, when dieting do not replace your old fashioned oatmeal with flavored. There is a big difference beleive it or not. The flavored has sugar, corn syrup, etc. Also if you do replace it with whole wheat bread, be carefull as most wheat breads you find at the grocery store are not "true" wheat bread. You'll most likely have to go to a specialty bread store to get the good stuff. Seemingly little stuff like this actually makes a big difference. Happy dieting!

I don't know if you can get this in USA but we (Aust) have a cereal called Cerevite that's got 10g P, 40g C, 1.8g F per 60g serve. It's low on the glycemic index, and high in fibre. No sweeteners, flavourings etc.
It's a mixture of semolina, oatbran, barleybran, wheatgerm, soya protein, maize and rye. You can cook it up like porridge or eat it raw.
Not brilliant, but at least it adds a some variety when I'm dieting. :)

Try adding raisins in your oatmeal, makes big difference. I am like you am so sick of the stuff I actually gag and almost throw up but I force my self to eat it any way - my b/fast is 2 cups oatmeal with skim milk and 16 egg whites.

i eat so much oatmeal 2 cups, 2-3 times a day
it is just such a good source but i agree you need to get creative
i always put protien powder in it to give it some taste

Just make some homemade hashbrowns. I just chop up my regular white potatoes and cook them with my eggs. Do it right up until contest time, add some peppers and even some salsa....yummy!

Or, I blend my eggs, protein powder and oatmeal together and make a semi pancake concoction. Not bad with a little Peanut Butter & Sugar Free Syrup
