Has anyone ever tried both of these (seperately) and found to be better than the other?
But I'm hypopituitary and have been dealing with thyroid issues for the past 6 years. (aka... pituitary is not producing enough TSH, LH, FSH, ACTH.)
Yes T3 is several times stronger then T4, but T4 has synergestic effects with GH. So if you're taking HGH, I'd opt for T4. GH also up-regulates the conversion of T4 to T3 and I believe makes T3 more efficient in general.
T4 has a longer half-life, and although people claim T3 has a ~10hr or so half-life, it actually lasts SEVERAL days and suppresses TSH right away. T3 is the main part of the TSH/throid feedback loop that shuts TSH down really quick. The liver converts T4 into T3, just as it converts GH into IGF-1.. I have had literally hundreds of blood tests and know this is true.
A normal person makes aprox 200mcg T4 and 50mcg of T3 every day. Also remember the thyroid has several other hormones, such as calcitonin, which you probably don't want to shut off for too long. I've read some info about T2 helping lipolysis as well, although I don't know as much about it.
I see a lot of bros using T3 at REALLY high doses, and this alarms me. For a while I was hyperthyroid and having BAD heart palpitations. I passed out and stopped breathing at one point.
T3 and T4 can both be perfectly safe, just don't over-do it. I am using 50-100mcg of T4 and my TSH is lower, but not shut all the way down. If I take even 5-10mcg of T3 I am at ZERO.
Hope this helps someone, and I look forward to learning from everyone on here.

As a side note, Armour thyroid is the way to go, as it replaces all 7 thyroid hormones.
Don't worry, after 2 weeks, even after being on thyroid meds for years, you will almost certainly recover just fine.

Bro, are you sure of those numbers. They are high. I have a thyroid and pituitary issue and have research this extensively. T4 to T3 ratios produce in the body are usually 20/1. Medical literature is as follows:
The human thyroid secretes about 80 mcg of T4, 4 mcg of T3, and 2 mcg of rT3 each day. The body converts 30-35% of that 80 mcg T4 to T3. That is 24-28 mcg of T3 ED. Plus the 4 mcg it already produces, average T3 production would be 28-32 mcg ED, in the body.
You are correct, I was going by my memory on the mcg's. My bad I was talking about overall ratios, which are around 4:1/3:1. This was not the point of my post though, thanks for catching it.
Here's another source with the same info that you posted...
