Yea clearly used SEOs but in general they always looked right which is big. A lot of people forget SEOs are there to stretch fascia which allows for new growth if done properly as opposed to just bags of oil which looks like shit imo.

I think what made it look a bit OTT was his mega disproportionate upper arm to forearm size.

In my opinion for competitive BB he went to far as apart from that he had an incredible physique

He wasnt generally that bad imo but he made his money on those tris for sure. Biggest issue with SEOs in arms, especially done wrong, is guys with forearms that don’t match up, in this pic its glaring. I’ve got a few I look at now and clearly my delts are over done in relation to my biceps but on that day I didn’t see it and generally wasn’t marked down for it. I should be, just like bad gyno should never be allowed to win a show overall imo. But it happens.

I think Shaun Clarida is and will forever be underrated due to his height. Yes he won 2 212 Olympias, but when i see him.. how he can carry so much mass on that little frame, and how he is always in shape that makes some guys look out of shape.

Most guys at the 2006 Olympia line up- the year Jay beat Ronnie were solid.

We can’t forget Dennis James the Mr. Olympia of every gym photo.

I don’t think guys like him, Marcus Ruhl, or Nasser were underrated. I think they just played the size card too hard and lost the mass with class look that Ronnie and Jay brought. It was a fine line in that era.

I also was a fan of Ronny Rockel’s physique. Guys like him and Melvin Anthony (until the end) never played the size card and looked amazing.

I always thought he had such a powerful physique. I figured since he was a bit unique it cost him. Definitely wrong in my opinion

He was punished for leaving the IFBB and trying out for the WBBF.
