looking for tips to breaking thru plateaus on bench press and wg shoulder presses, i hit a wall when everywhere else i'm climbing consistently

Eat more and keep lifting hard.

thanks for chiming in, would love to eat more but on a pretty straight forward 7 feeding diet. Everytime i'm in they gym i kill myself like it's my last day on earth, i push to the point of almost shitting myself daily. Not almost shitting myself, but pushing my guts to the brink:D

moreso insearch of complementary movements, exercises, etc...

Take a break from it. You could be trying too hard and overtraining. Growth happens during rest.

Tomorrow will come eventually, no need to kill yourself at every training session. train hard but train smart. Sometimes you just need to back off a little to get results. Overtraining is a killer for gains!

No need to go max effort every time you train. Take some time off, or a deload week. Hit some variations to your pressing, like board presses for bench.

Well you might try a new training technique like this...**broken link removed**.

Arnold said that when he wanted to get past a plateau, one day he would do nothing but bench presses; up to 20 or 30 sets. The next day he would be wasted, but after sufficient rest his BP would start moving up again.

I think switching up your routine can help. Even something as simple as the order of movements can help.

I'd say take a break, then come back with a new routine.

That and eat more are usually the answers to why a person gets stuck.

some simple changes in the routine can bust through a plateau.

Switch the days you train, like if you do legs on monday, switch it to thursday

Switch the order you do exercises, if you deadlift first, do it last

Switch from BB exercises to DB exercises and vice versa

just a few tips here. But taking a week off can definitely help.

Switch it up. I took 2 months off from the flat bench and was lifting DC. I got on Wednesday to see what poundage I've improved, I threw up 365 pretty easily. My previous best was 335. So switch it up a little

I always change the exercise after I know I have plateaued.Get strong on new exercises and when returning to the previous ones chances are you will be a little weaker but will soon break through that old plateau.

Thats if it is a training plateau, diet and rest can halt gains also so make sure you have thosed sqaured away.

Whats your lifting schedule look like?

Posting your routine would give you the feedback your looking for.
