Turkey hair transplant.

We get it, you are loyal to USA. But you are sadly mistaken that these Doctors don't get hold accountable for their actions. They don't get just sued, they get prison time.

If you actually want the best of the best, you can google and find Turkey Doctors listed among the best. People from all over the world go to that Albania Doctor, including USA. He has 30 years experience and is well known plastic surgeon.. Next you will be telling me only people that are from Turkey go to Turkey Doctors. Isn't that what you are saying??

Actually top European country for plastic surgery is Lithuania. Lots of people go there including USA.

It is easier for me to find who is qualified, because I live here. You can do the same background checks here, USA does that corner the market on that.

I get my teeth done in Romania for a fraction of the cost. All by a very qualified dentist I know personally. Meanwhile a Dentist in USA charged me an outrageous price and mess them up. He files Bankruptcy and starts a new business. Good way to get away without paying people. You wouldn't see that happen in Romania. They would be held responsible.

Did you know in Romania if I don't have health care as a foreigner and go to the emergency room at a hospital and I wouldn't get charge a dime??

I get it though. You feel safe at home. Well my home is now Romania and Europe and I can get the same quality doctors here. Europe has some of the best in the world.

It definitely is an issue of familiarity and knowing the ins and outs and what I can do to prevent malpractice issues and knowing the laws etc…

Sure, a doctor can do a bankruptcy and there’s things to protect themselves and it can be a pain in the ass, but I’d much rather have to deal with that issue here, where I speak the language and can have a lawyer and deal with the litigation and understand what’s going on than to for example go half way across the world, and say it’s a shitty doctor too, both scenarios, shitty doctors..

What if you come back, spend 2, 3, 6 months in recovery before you realize it’s a botched job (it takes months to see the results) and then you call or go back there and the clinic is completely gone, doesn’t exist anymore, no way to find the doctor etc… And even if you do and get lawyers etc, anyone here speak Turkish?? How do you know they’re not going to give you a run around too to get as much money out of you as possible??

I’d take option A… But that’s just me…

But I DID AGREE WITH YOU… I’m very aware there’s amazing doctors all over the world…

Colombia for instance… They are doing God’s work over there, not a flaw on those women to be seen 😂

But as I said, for me, it’s a language and familiarity thing

Unless I personally knew people in said countries that were good friends or family that can guide me and I know will 100% look out for me and give me the ins and outs, I’ll just stick to the US..

At least now I know Romania is an option because I have you over there 😉

For every bad review, generally, there are ten good reviews not posted. People usually don't post, but will ,in a heartbeat, if they feel they got cheated.

It's more than a thousand dollars try about half price ce of 9 k is 4.5. we get it you live American, and that's great, and there are other countries where some Doctors are close to same caliber of service. Some are better, depends on the surgeon. Do your research, on the surgeon.

Yea I can agree with the review thing… You’re probably right there..

But no bro, I’m saying 1-2k because 3500+ grafts IS A LOT… It’s not the common thing for people to get that many, maybe he can chime back in but I’d think he waited a while to do the surgery and didn’t have a whole lot of hair left before doing the surgery..

The average from what I’ve seen and done research on is around 1200-2000 grafts for most people and their situations…

I’ve seen that run around $4-$5k from some top of line hair specialists with thousands of reviews and procedures under their belt…

Granted, I think that Turkish $3k (ish) pricing is the flight, hotel, food and transport included with the surgery so the surgery is probably like $1k if you really think about it…

But still.. For convenience and peace of mind, I’d rather just do it right here for 1-2k extra…

I actually have an appointment in November with Vera Clinic in Istanbul. I researched toms of different places and weighed the cost benefit of all my options and went with them. It’s $3500 usd but my plane ticket was another $1870 round trip so it’s not cheap but they came highly recommended. They rated me a 6 on the Norwood scale and it’s 5000 grafts, all aftercare, and two nights hotel accommodations. They are one of the few clinics that uses the fue method with sapphire blades which greatly minimizes scaring and recovery time. I’ll definitely post once I’ve actually had it done but given all things considered I felt very comfortable going over there for my procedure.

Are they including a PRP session within the price?
They should, based on their pricing. Moreover, the majority of them do have minimum of 3 not 2 nights lodging. 2 nights deal is too short considering the stress and the jetlag.
if I were you, I'd get back to them and negotiate even if you maybe have already deposited some %, I am certain they will award you with a 3rd night.

Have you made a deposit?

I just looked and it is actually 3 nights. They had 5 different package levels, all were with the same sapphire fue process but had add ons for prp treatments and some oxygen therapy, red light therapy etc. I’ve been doing that here stateside though so I didn’t opt in for those upgraded packages. Figure once healed I’ll continue back on red light therapy and preventative measures to help growth and not lose additional hair. The package I chose I added as an attachment.

Have you confirmed that a doctor will be doing the procedure? I ask because I know some places there use hired labor with less experience.

They claim that the incisions themselves and extraction process is done by the doctor himself but there’s definitely unknown variables and risks. I’ve known multiple people that went to Vera Clinic though and all were really pleased.

It's a pain in the ass...

Go to Tijuana instead.
I went to Turkey at first (beard transplant)
I felt odd the whole time.
The 24 hours of flights to get there, and another 24 hours back is just not worth it. It's especially awfully in the flights coming back. Went from Colorado to Germany and then to Turkey. The same coming back. You don't wanna look like shit in that many places and feel that blah after surgery. But I left turkey 24 hours after surgery.

I went to Tijuana to get a touch up and that was a breeze.
Colorado to San Diego (2 hours) and San Diego drive to Tijuana 30 minutes.
On the way back to get back into the boarder a private car for four hours depending on who's all at the boarder, but medical patients have faster priority through the boarder. Then 2 hour flight back to Colorado. It was only 500$ more for Tijuana.
I should have done that vs Turkey. That was an awful experience just from the travel time.

My opinion does not mean fuck all but a few observations I have over the years

1. No one, and I mean no one, no matter where they have the procedure done looks good with it. It never looks natural, and no one has ever told me they felt it was worth the $$ and the recovery time

2. I never want to be the "just shave it bro" guy, but /I have been shaving my head for the last 5 years and it was the most freeing thing I could have ever done, so many people have told me it looks great, and for years I always thought I would look atrocious with a shaved head. I didn't lose my hairline because of gear either, I just kind of always had a set-back hairline and it was gradually receding. Many barbers told me it still looked great and I had years before it needed to address it, but I just said fuck it. YMMV. Every day of my life I am thankful that I took that plunge.

3. If I was absolutely going to do it, I'd find a way to have it done in the States...I have seen way too much goofy shit go down in foreign countries. Germany is probably the only country I would trust for a medical procedure, but they are probably even more expensive than the USA...

I would double check on that and get some type of guarantee as caution. It might be accurate but, I have read some went there and had nurses doing both or part of it. There were even instances where the surgeon listed on the web wasn't even there. I am talking in general, not pointing out Vera.
Bottom line, once you get there you are trapped, it will be a hit or a miss, if you are lucky, all goes as explained to you with the same operating crew in before you leave The States, or, you end up being misled and either accepting their ( modified ) terms, or not doing it and losing the deposit + the flight fare and the time wasted. I believe they require a 15% deposit in order to make a surgery reservation.
