just curious what you guys bench on a work set, and what do you incline? theres really no point to this im just curious.
me 365x8clean 2 assisted.
incline is 315 x 6 clean 3 assisted
im 198 and 10% bf...yeah i lost some weight but got the bodyfat down...oh im 5'7"
 
wow dude, thats one hell of a bench especially for your weight!! My bench is not one of my better lifts, I can do 325/5 on flat, 275/8-10 on inclines, I'm almost just as strong incline as flat. but I weight 30 lbs more than you as well, so as you can see my bench sucks!!

Well, if you had arms long as mine, you aren't too proud of your bench press strength:D I be more than willing to tell you what I deadlift.
 
I do not bench any more! I have no interest in being a powerlifter. Been there and done that. It is about building muscle. The bench press is not necessarily the most efficient at doing that!!
 
Back in my prime I did like 135 for 10.

That was a while ago though.

Sometimes if I was feeling good I'd throw an extra dime on each side and just rep out with 155 (like 8 reps, and I think one time I got 9 but my partner might have helped, but he was saying like "all you man" the whole time so I'm not sure).

Anyways that's me.

LMFAO...well i was talking with a friend of mine at the gym, and we started thinking....ive never seen a guy that could rep out 500 that had small triceps, delts and pecs. yeah you get the freak of nature that has a sick one rep max but thats all they have. im nowhere near in the shape some of you guys are but im working on it. and im thinking you just dont see small guys with big lifts, so im trying to get all my lifts big, but not just for one rep. i totally understand diet is key, but i think most would agree that a stronger muscle is a bigger muscle.
 
Yea i stopped going stupid heavy a long time ago. Now il stick with a very strict and slow 315x6-8 incline and i dont do flat at all. Every rep is about 2-3 seconds down, slight pause, then press to near lockout.

I do dips with 180lbs on my waist for 6-8 tho lol....only exercise where stupid heavy just feels good......
 
i was gonna say, i have seen video of you doing stupid heavy dips, and doing them well. lol! oh yeah, i have seen you incling with 160's, that not light and if you say it is i am quitting lifting right now.

yeah but your a freak...the rest of us that are alittle lacking in the genetics department gotta do what we gotta do. lol
 
Last year I was at 485 for 3 reps and then I ended up tearing the supraspinatus in my right shoulder. Mind you fellas, I stand a whopping 5'5, so I don't have very far to push. Needless to say, Im a bit apprehensive about climbing back under a flat bench.
 
most i ever did raw flat bench was 525x5
my workout that day went
warm ups to 405
405x5, 455x5 505x2, 525x5
i used to regularly do sets of 30 with 315, 50+ with 225 when i was getting ready for the combine.
best 225 was 71(but th nfl didnt think 8 were good enuff) so legit 63

I keep all my work sets mainly on barbells now due to wrist injuries from the past. My bench last time I used a bar was about the same as yours.
 
I only do incline benches for the past 6 years. Injured my rotators three separate times doing heavy flats and I know more than a few guys I train with who were in the same boat and now all do declines, inclines, or Hammer machines.

:eek: You guys lifts are freakin crazy.Right now 2 months after the Georgia I'm just now getting 225 for 15-20 good reps.I wouldn't want to attempt anything close to 315.I probably won't go over 275 all winter

thats impressive as hell but there is more to football than bench press
