So much for stereo typing Body Building/ Weight lifting. I've seen responses form Iron Worker to Male Stripper to IT guys.. that's pretty interesting. I also think that there are more American's who BB / WL than other countries. I've been all around Europe and the Middle East and you don't see a lot of gyms or large guys like you do in the states...

Ever looked into a gov firefighting gig? A place near me you can work for a company that makes helicopters for the military or a "disassembling plant for some kindof explosives" and they make near $80,000 a year to sit on their asses and maybe go work the occasional car wreck.

A couple observations about this thread:

1. The douches on PM don't ever respond to these "what is your career" type of threads. Hmmm....
2. Everyone who does respond seems to have a pretty decent job even if they don't like it that much and would rather be doing something else.
3. There would be more responses if you offered the option: stay at home and do nothing while my wife works and pays the bills.

I think most people know what I do but I used to work with kids in residential treatment and detention for about 12 years. I can relate to the shit smearing and those sorts of things.

Hey Skip my mom use to do that! She got sick of going under "investigation" everytime she had to do her job, or yell at a kid and tell them to "shut up". She said the males had it worse, since it was co ed, since some of the girls learned anytime staff was mean "they would file a sexual harrasment report"! These kids were all from Dept. of Probation, and she said a time came when the staff had no rights, and the minors had all the rights.

This is very true and it was getting BAD when I was getting out of it. It was far worse in residential treatment than in detention, though. In detention you could still get away with a lot of shit but when I worked in treatment and was working with kids who had been sexually abused, they knew how to work the system.

It was too bad, too, because I really liked that kind of work and I feel that it made me a better parent, too. I would be lying if I said I didn't miss it.

4. Live with my parents, workout in the garage, and let them pay all the bills. Unless you were including that in #1.

I am in management at a strip club, was a doorman for a long time before being promoted, I still do off hand bodyguard work plus am licensed bounty hunter and bail bondsmen in AZ. I was a mechanic for ten years along with bouncer before I gave up cars last summer. I have correctional officer friends and they are trying to get me to move over.
