Just curious on how much some of you monsters eat. I had the biggest calorie intake today I've ever had in my life. I was wondering how big some of you guys eat. Anyone at 10k? Anyone at over 500g of protein a day?
You guys that want to eat like this are going to hurt yourselves real bad not only short term but in the long run as well.
There is a reason that elephants eat one way and Sparrows eat another way. Reverse that and what do you think will happen?
If you are taking enough gear to metabolize 7,000 - 10,000 calories a day, the eating isn't your biggest concern.
I only drink sparkling mineral water with a twist of lemon and a salad with no-fat dressing on the side.

I gotta disagree with you here. Why? Because if an elephant were to eat like a sparrow what would happen to it?? Now that sounds dangerous. If you weigh 240 lbs and eat for 240 lbs guess what you will weigh in a year...240. You need to eat above what is needed to stay the same if you want to grow, train hard enough for it to be necessary, and rest enough for that hard work and food to become muscle.
I know you are one of Phil's guys but I think you are misunderstanding what he means by eat when hungry. If you train your Fing ass off you will be ravenous and you will eat a ton thus grow.

Ever checked out any life extension boards or the like? If any of those people ever read this kind of forum I know they'd think we were a bunch of nuts. I used to be caught up in the 'eat big to get big' routine, then a few here got me thinking in a different way. I understand some of us have high aspirations, and certain goals require certain sacrifices but health should always be a top concern. As i get older i continue to learn and adapt my way of thinking. These crazy amounts of calories arent needed. Show me any studies that state eating 1000-1500 cals over what your body needs will lead to significantly more muscle than slightly above maintanence (they could be out there). I realize a 250lb lean man is going to need significantly more cals than a 200lb man (especially on aas). However, I can't seem to justify eating copious amounts of food that may not be needed. This may be a crazy thought, however, it's a typical 'western' way of doing things. We take much more than we really need (most of us, this is a generalization). Cars, money, food, material items... at what point will we realize enough is enough. Stop taking in excess... especially when there is no benefit. Shoot, I LOVE to eat, I am a restaurant owner, I make a living on people who like to eat well. But why do something that could shorten a good life? Just my current thoughts, no disrespect meant, it's only something I've been pondering lately.
That's the thing. Everyone needs a different amount of calories to grow. I dont think I've ever met someone with a metabolism like mine. My maintenance is about 4500 calories at a bw of 170. But it depends on my lifestyle too, which changes a lot. I didn't start gaining weight until I was consistantly eating clean at 5500 cals a day.
And as for the whole eating when hungry analogy, that's great if you're normal and have an appetite. But for me, Besides before my workout and after my workout, I'd be perfectly happy going ALL DAY without eating. No appetite at all. And while I completely agree with Dusty about if you want to be 250, eat like you're 250, I dont really agree with "if you're training your balls off, you're going to be hungry all day". It's possible it might be like that for most people, but I guess I'm one of the exceptions. It also probably makes a difference that I'm not using yet. So maybe that will change when i'm ready.
