took some a while ago
great results but skin was fuc*n dry and lips exploded every time I smiled

good stuff though but if u have acne on the face only, go with Retin-A

I love it myself The biggest side I had was clear skin The truth is my skin did get really dry. I would say if going to give Accutane a try, carry eye drops and lip balm.

Give me a break ,Clear skin and some dryness was all the sides I got ,and yes I had blood tests done ,BTW you dont really need to take a shitload everyday for months on end to see results ,I have suffered from acne for years ,and only need to take it for a few weeks a year to have perfect skin now ,Anybody who has suffered from the mental effects acne can have on someone knows how valuable this drug is..................I almost forgot I used/use real gelcaps not the liquid stuff some peeps carry ,I tried a few bottles of the liquid stuff and had to use at least twice as much.

search it on this site and on the web befor you make your decision...

As the other members have stated Accutane is a powerfull drug and should be respected. My post above did'nt point out any of the possible dangers Do your research before making a decision. I never went above 25mg ED, so that goes to show you how potent(potentially dangerous)Accutane is.

The Accutane did make me sun sensitive, but it was bearable. My dose was 25mgs ED for 3 months. By the way I should mention that I had A BAD CASE OF ACNE ON MY BACK. Within 5 weeks my skin on my back looked great. I did use Milk Thisle and kept my water intake at 1 1/2-2 Gallons a day.

what part of "imo" dont you understand? it means "in my opinion".....

when using UG accutane be sure its in gelcaps or suspended in liquid because regular accutane tabs that are "out of blister" spoil very easily in contact with air...

accutane is good stuff but one shoud drink tons of water while on a "cycle" and the dryness and irritation is not that bad for most people...alex

i am taking a little now. just 20mgs ed. this is a small, small run at it, i have run it 2 other times at larger doses, first time i was on 60mgs ED, then the 2nd run 40, man my lips were constantly split...you definately will need chapstick. as for the sun, it does make your skin more sensitive so i wouldnt take it if you need to be out in the sun all day. but the stuff works wonders. keep this in mid though...it gets WORSE before it gets better...remember that....it will.

DRY LIKE THE DESERT

Accutane does as it says, but is SUCKS EVERY LAST DROP of water from you. I was dryer then dr, it was unbarable.

My lips got so bad they almost bled. Beyond that it was not bad.

When I first started I also got some bad cramping.

bro sun will kill you with accutane

have the same problem and tanning bed get ride of that acne really fast

I live in AZ and you can get the generic gel caps in Mexico at any pharmacy. They will let you take it over the boarder as well. I have mixed feelings on accutane but if its needed 20-40mgs ED seems to do fine with most people. Most doctors will put you on that stuff for 3-6 months your first time with monthy blood work. Honestly for your liver, Synthetek's liver detox works great as well as Liv52 or Now's Dr. V's Liver detox.

I had moderate acne on my back and shoulders and since I am over 30 it's not going away with age. So, I used Accutane at 40mg/day for 8 wks and then up to 80mg/day for 16 more weeks. This was under the care of a Dr. and I had monthly bloodwork done. I was not taking any other supps or gear while taking it either.
It worked really good and the effects have been more permanent than any other treatment. The sides are also more real too.
At 40mg/day I had tolerable sides with the dry eyes and chapped lips. When I upped the dose(at the recommendation of my Dr.) to 80mg/day the sides intesified a lot.
The dry eyes became a constant irritation and I carried the natural tears eye drops everywhere. I had to use the eye drops about 8 times a day. Also the chapped lips turned into cracked bleeding lips until I found the right chapstick to use. The medicated chapstick caused major sores on the corners of my mouth that looked like Herpes. I don't have Herpes but the medication in the chapstick was more irritating than helping. The kind you need is the "moisture only" kind. Carry it and use it about 25 times a day if you go to the higher doseage. My cuticules on my fingernails dried up and hurt a little too.
The stuff I used was script pharmacy medication and I have not tried the liquid or UG stuff. The blood work was done every month without fail. I took nothing else while taking it. Also, drink a lot of water and do not drink alcohol while taking it. I went out drinking one night after being on it for a few months and though I hadn't drank much I got sick and was ill for 3 days. The next blood test showed more liver stress and I swore off the booze until done with the Accutane because I was so sick.
Since I took 6 months of treatment at the listed doseages I have had no trouble with it coming back. Even on cycle or coming off cycle I have had only occasional minor blemishes.
I wouldn't take it without having bloodwork done monthly. I also wouldn't take it while taking any oral steroid.
As for the doseage there are two things to consider. The dose has to be enough to kill the subacious glands or the acne will come back. Also the term of use has to be long enough or the acne will come back. If it doesn't work completely you can run it again later but you have to suffer the sides again.
