Why is SHBG high?

Haven’t been on anything for a while, and I just got my hormone levels checked because I haven’t in a few years. No real symptoms of low T other than just not responding or recovering as good as when I’m on it. Total T is -600 ng/dL , SHBG is 60 (normal range has a max of 55) and free T is 7 ng/dL (range was 10-20). LH is pretty much in the middle of the reference range. Estradiol is <15 but I didn’t get an actual number. I’m guessing the higher SHBG is keeping both free T and Estrogen low, but the question is why is it high? 38 yrs old, 8-9% bf, and I am just doing a lot of cardio (8-12 hours a week) and currently dieting down for races this spring. No weights, trying to lose a little muscle mass. Also my cholesterol looks amazing, 60 HDL / 70 LDL. Not taking any meds for any purpose.

Has anyone had this happen? Is this from a past history of AAS use or maybe low calories / lots of cardio? How do I get my free test back up?
