I have been thinking about this for awhile now, and I even went out and bought a camera to do it...But here is my idea ???

Would you guys watch a training video blog, with me (Chris250 and FitSarah) as we get ready for our shows (FitSarah/Continental USA and Nats, Chris250/Nats) What this would show, is some of our final sets (kinda like LevorneReport) and I would even go into some detail about training, diet and cardio...as Sarah and I get ready for our shows...

The reason Im thinking about doing this is...1 Would help give Sarah and I more exposer to the bodybuilding world 2. People would see me weeky as I get ready for Nationals, and maybe that would even help me get noticed there 3. Sarah has alot (ALOT) of potential to be in the magazines, and without me pushing her to get herself out there more, she wouldnt do it. So this is one way for me to get her face out there and have photogpher's see her and maybe get her in the magazines, this year or next...

So if I do this, I would like to have a simple website that people can go to and put the video's on plus be able to write up something each day (training related, diet, cardio, ect) A place for people to go, and not have to search all over youtube to see the video's...So my next question is, where do I go to build a simple but professional looking website ?

What do you think ??? Good idea, dumb idea ??? Boring ???

Great idea brother! I vote "GO FOR IT"!! ( I remember saying this to someone else on here but can't recall who it was. )

I would love this. I've never competed but I would like to. I think it would be great to see how someone truely gets ready for a show. (I don't really know anyone who does shows). For me it would be a great window into what it takes and what the whole prep period is like.
Basically I think I would watch it many times over.
 
Can't help you on the website front... but I absolutely would follow along your/her prep.
 
I think it is a really good idea, but when watching any type of training video I look for whether or not the hosts have camera personality. It is one of those things that people either seem to have or don't, though I would imagine it could always be worked on.

Obviously the content of the show is critically important. However, you can have the best content in the world but be hindered if it is not easily communicated.

So.... you already have the camera and what better time to test it out? You should go through a few dry runs of what you would like your video blog to be like. Watch it and see how you are on camera and then adjust if you think you need to. Get others to watch it and tell you what they think.

All in all I think it is a great idea. I would love to see how it turns out.

great learning tool. i'd also like to see some kitchen shots....you know meal prep etc.

Well would you guys want a whole half hour show, or would you want it to be one clip at a time (showing the final set of the movement, talk about it, then move on) Kinda like how kevin levorne is doing his transformation video's...

Chris...great idea bro.

I would take whatever time allows. You're busy...but if your going to go into your workout/diet etc. chances are it will run towards 15+ minutes.

I'm game for anything...

excellent suggestion. I know for me I fall short sometimes in the kitchen. And could always use help.

The way kevin seems to keep it short yet informative holds my attention much more then watching a half hour video. But whatever works for you brother!
 
JUST DO IT! :)

I know if I had a good training partner myself, I'd love to do it. Great for motivation too since with people watching you and waiting for your progresses you have to give your very best and can't give up. Go for it!

Good question. I think there are advantages to both.

I would personally favor the 30min or even a 15 min show over the small clips. Nothing against the Levrone report, but I am just not a fan of the small clips as it feels less personal. Furthermore, the longer show would mean you would have time to plug in things about diet, and maybe even showing some dieters kitchen tips (something like here is something we make during contest prep and here is how we do it. I liked this about Kevin Levrones actual BBing videos).

On the other hand, smaller clips would be easier for people to watch and move on. Getting you more views in a quicker fashion. Not to mention it would be the kind of thing people wouldn't mind watching at work since it only takes a few moments. I am of the opinion that while this will work in the short run, it might get boring too quickly and people wouldnt come back to check out the "new episodes" as would be the case in the 30 to 15 min approach.

I think what it really comes down to is whether or not you have a plan on how to do a longer show. If you could fill the time with training, diet, posing, whatever else, and still have new ideas for the next show then you are in business.

Again I like both approaches but personally would prefer a slightly longer show than the clips that are similar to the Levrone report.
 
I like the Idea as well, I would definately watch, as far as a website. Maybe if you find someone with experience at it.
