I Googled it and said what the hell cant hurt. Been sleeping much better for 4-5 days now. Woke once last night took a swig of Tart Cherry Juice and went back to sleep.

i guess you would know to check into sleep apnea, but besides investigating sleep apnea have you ever tried melatonin? It will allow you to get back to REM sleep even when apnea occurs.
melatonin is nature's anti-stress hormone because it counters the effects of high cortisol.
many scientists consider melatonin to be the best anti-oxidant known. it crosses all membrane barriers and is a powerful scavenger of free radicals.
i take about 3-5mg about 40 minutes before bedtime. on high central nervous system workouts like heavy squats and dead lifts i have in my gear bag along with the citrulline-malate, whey, leucine etc... it counters cortisol from heavy workouts.
i suggest you start with a low dose when first trying it and build from there, because it may cause vivid dreams or nightmares in some. that doesn't occur with 1-3 mgs and like i said it helps to let you get back into rem sleep even if you awaken.
if you're on it year round like i am the body's natural production can shut down and you would need to taper off or take it nightly.
in the vitamin section of every grocery, dept store etc... and it's inexpensive.

Chainheart, you handed down some very sound advice. Although, the penial gland has no negative feedback loop inhibiting melatonin suppression from taking exogenous melatonin.

How much do you take and is it already concentrated? I have some stuff I bought from whole foods a few months ago that you are supposed to dilute and instead of diluting I just took 2 tablespoons per day. The stuff tasted great but it made my stool black and a little constipated so I quit taking it. Thinking of trying it tonight but in a lesser dosage.

someone mentioned GABA and i know that helps me fall asleep, but didn't keep me asleep as melatonin and L-theanine will do.
