Guys this was supposed to be a fun thread! Those of you that want to make it about something else other than fun, please take your argument to PM's. Let's continue enjoying this thread!!
I wasn´t looking for it, but today this video appeared in one of the sports newspaper sites I read, it shows an absolute nutter by the name of Luke Aikins jumping out of an airplane with no parachute at 25,000 ft and landing on a net.
One cool thing I noticed was how his heart rate was showing up around 148 bpm. That right there shows you the amount of adrenaline that must be circulating in the body when doing that stunt. That shit would kill me. I wish I had tried skydiving when I was younger and healthy.
I actually have a small 'living on the edge' part in me (okay...maybe it's miniscule), but like K1 stated, these guys are on a whole different level. I know nothing of what they do, so i'm ignorant to say one way or the other on it, lol. I'm kind of a strange case though, I could jump out of a plane, and do some adrenaline type stuff, but on the other hand, i'm HUGELY scared of heights.
I have a hard time climbing ladders, trees, or watching movies where they are looking down from the edge of a tall building
These days, i'd break a leg or ankle jumping down from a 2-3ft step

Yeah, really ! I bet you are right too. That guy is very highly trained and I bet someone untrained doing that same jump would have a much higher rate. I figured that. I guess I was just thinking that his rate would be slower since he is so experienced and highly trained. Being so high up he needed oxygen supplemented, so there is definitely a very strong physiological load on the body.
That was an amazing feat that he did. Probably one of the most crazy things I have ever seen.
