Joe Rogan was talking about it on his recent podcast with Rvan Hafer episode 2070. I’m sure Rogan is careful about what he puts his name behind or promotes as far as brands go which makes me want to order some.

Anyone here tried it?

I love love jerky.

There is a place in Bishop, CA I always stop at when I am in the Owens
River Valley. Biggest selection of jerky I have ever seen. I damn near go
broke every time I visit the place. I should wise up like you and do my own.

Have a look. (I am not affiliated with them. It's a free plug.)

 
Every jerky I’ve ever seen seems to contain a tonne of sugar
Because commercially produced jerky companies have to add a lot of sugar for flavor to make up for the fact that they’re not actually smoking their jerky, but using jerky flavoring and inferior cuts of meat. I use only choice too round for mine, and make some sugar free. I have several diabetic customers that ask for it

Pretty nice selection there. I wish I found make wild game jerky for sale, but the regulations with it are insane

Despite that huge selection and the 'game meat' (and I have tried them
all over the years) I keep coming back to the standard teriyaki beef.

Bro I make the best terriyaki jerky ever. It’s not super sweet like some of them. Think Japanese steakhouse sauce. I use this bad boy as the base for the sauce that I make IMG_8387.png
 
Just going off the ingredient list for wicked cutz, their jerky is not actually smoked. Just has smoke flavor added and uses tricalcium phosphate as preservative rather than smoke

If you ever see “smoke flavoring” on the ingredient list….they didn’t actually smoke it. They dried it and used liquid smoke to impart the smoke flavor.
I only use smoke and sodium to preserve jerky. The old school way.
I’ve let a bag sit on the shelf for over 3 months and it was still fresh and delicious

This exact sauce is what i marinate skinless boneless chicken thighs in and airfry them. Its awesome,,yes thighs every once in while, i get very tired of breast. I can see how this would be perfect for jerky.

So is something like great value or Kroger brand beef jerky made like yours or is it made like you're describing here, not being authentic?
