So this is the ingredients for Kroger. I’d bet my life the “flavorings” includes smoke flavoring meaning it’s not smoked just air dried. There’s nothing inherently wrong with air dried jerky, but without the use of smoke it requires preservatives to be shelf stable for awhile so that’s why you see the citric acid. And I personally try to avoid corn syrup whenever possibleSo is something like great value or Kroger brand beef jerky made like yours or is it made like you're describing here, not being authentic?
