have any of you guys just dropped your diet for like a week or so?

just dropped your diet and stopped worrying about what macros or anything you get in just to take a break?

If I go on vacation... I go on vacation from everything.. lifting, eating right, drugs, etc.. other then the occasional cheat day every week or every other week, I'm pretty consistent with my diet

Are you talking about a fat loss diet or just regular day to day "clean eating"

It's good to take a break from a fat loss diet where your calories have been low for awhile, and get your macro's up so your metabolism gets fired up again and you don't stall.

not fat loss

just everyday dieting, maintaining...

im young so i dont have that much of a problem but for guys who have been doing a diet for like 4-5 years...dont you ever feel the need to just relax and not live by what it tells u to eat on paper? and macros and such?

just curious

Yea man, I think everyone needs a break sometimes. Whenever I feel guilty during those couple days of eating pizza, ice cream, etc. I just remember that motivation and progress have always been peaked after a mental deload like that. I think taking a short break every now and then is better than an all out binge down the road. My 02. ;)

Is that you in your avatar?

If it is then keep doing whatever you are!

I just think that once it gets into your head and you can look at food and guess the macros it becomes impossible to really eat bad. I mean when I see "good" food I actually feel grossed out because I do an instant fat/carb and calories breakdown. I actually get shocked that people can consume it. If I have a couple drinks or it is a cheat day I might have a cookie or two but thats about it.

That's Frank McGrath in his avatar from "The Journey" blog-thing on Animal...

To the OP, absolutely. You have to or eventually you WILL get burned out...gotta relax and recharge once in a while. A week or two a year is not going to affect your physique...as long as you're not prepping for a show!

No, bulking or cutting. Once and while I eat two cheats for my cheat meal day. (Once a week, only if I'm bulking)

You won't burnout if you have the desire to be the best you can be. Getting superior results is much more desireable to me than a cheat meal.

But to each his own, if it's what you need to keep you going.
