Eat and Train in the AM

Fellas,

I've had tp change at what time of day I train and its fucking up my moring eating. I usually lift around 600am. I'm up around 5-5:30 and head to the gym. I'v been slamming down a shake and packet of oatmeal before I go, but after lifting I shower and get dressed for work so I dont eat a solid meal until about 45 minutes after I've worked out. I rather not slam a shake, lift and then slam a shake again and go two straight meals without any solid food.

throw a scoop of oatmeal in with it too for extra

exactly... i use 1/2 cup or oatmeal in all my shakes to add 150cals and 3 tbsp olive oil for an extra 360 cals.. makes my 300cal MRPs now an 800 calorie meal

My alarm goes off at 3:30 AM and I'm in the gym at 4:00 AM. Workout until 5:15, then I'm home in 10 minutes. Here's my schedule once I get home:

5:30 - Labrada Lean Body Shake w/ 2 bananas
6:00 - 6 eggs (4 white/2 whole) 4 pieces whole wheat toast
Leave house to catch train to work...
7:00 - Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Shake (to go from home)
8:30 - Chicken Breast w/ potato

etc...

I love working out early AM. No downside for me.

Thanks for the input, I get better workouts mid-day after I've had some food in me and I'm still fresh, but getting it out of the way first thing is really freeing up my day. I'm now getting back in action, so my goal is just to eat clean. I know after a month or so, I start to harden up and gain some LBM.
This is how my diet is looking right now:

0530: 40grams Protien shake and 1 packet of Maple and brown sug oatlmeal

0630: lift

0745: pw - creatine, glt with juice and 70 gram protein shake

0900: 8 eggs(4white/4whole) - 2 toast with jelly

1200: two chicken breasts, sweet potato

3:30: 50gram shake, 4 eggs

700: 3/4 lbs ground beef with veggies

1000: 75 protien shake with peanut butter

I only getting really 3 real meals in a day so I kinda hesitant but on paper I'm getting a good amount of protein. How would you guys, adjust this

Due to the nature of my job (lots of meetings throughout the day), I need to supplement my whole food intake with Protein or MRB Bars. I have 4 whole foold meals and typically three or four bars (currently EAS Myoplex Carb Sense) to supplement my caloric intake.

This works well for me, but I've heard from friends that this many bars (and I have a few shakes, one PWO and one before bed) can lead to stomach upset. I have not had this problem, so onward and upward for me!

PS - One drawer in my office looks like a Vitamin Shoppe. I keep about 10 boxes of bars, a few packets of shakes, a shaker cup, my daily vitamins, etc. in there. It's kinda funny when I leave it open and someone walks in...
 
HaHa Coopie.. I always have a ton of shit like that with me during the day in my bag. People look at me at school and are like WTF?? We are a different breed on this board! lol
 
Yep, I walk into work everyday with a camping cooler full of food and a gallon of water. People are constantly making comments about how much I eat. The funny thing is, I've been complaining lately about my lack of appetite. Wait 'til those little bastards at work see me when I'm actually HUNGRY :eek: !
 
I hear that!!!

Before I got a mini fridge in my office - just a few months ago - I used to carry an "Igloo" cooler to work with me on the train every day and night. My "train buddies" used to mock me by saying crap like "Hey - you laying the foundation today?!?" or "Isn't it cold to be going to the beach today?!?" You know, like I'm a construction worker or I'm headed to lay out in the sun.

I gotta admit though, it was funny to be a guy in a suit and tie carrying a cooler to work!

But, like Moose said, we're a totally different breed!

Thanks for the input fellas. I hear ya on the igloo to work. I usually keep the EAS Carb Advantage bars in my desk. Apple Cinnamon. I'm gonna have to check out he myo-plex bars.

Yeah I wonder what Phil has to say, or Excell I know he trains early in the am, but I think he trains at home so he might have more available to him.
